  • Yes, new rules has pictures and clear explanations. I found the exercises a little confusing the first time but by the third I really enjoyed them. What new rules has done for me is great, it really gave me back my balance and flexibility, think lots of one-legged stuff plus the compound lifts. I love it, highly…
  • I started in January, still going strong! I have lost nearly 40 lbs and it feels like something I can do a version of forever. I know meal timing is not supposed to matter, but I find I lose best when I wait to eat until dinner on my fast days. Have u checked out the forum over on lowcarbfriends for JUDDD? I am not low…
  • Me too! Female, 42 5'6", CW182' trying for 145ish also
  • Find something carbonated. Every time I have given up soda I have had this issue. Good luck!
  • I am using a standard bb (17 lbs) and a couple plates, did 22lb today. The 45 lb bar is too much for me to press.
  • Nice job, and good for you for going!
  • I forced myself to get through stage 2 A today, despite having very sore glutes from B. I am really glad I did, felt like a had a good and productive session. I actually really like the move I thought I would dread when looking ahead from Stage 1, the front squat/push press. Imagine, me doing a power move--makes me feel…
  • I guess I am only one :(
  • The original chicken sandwich (plain) at BK is only 460 cal and it really satisfies me.
  • What should we call you / name: Sheila Where you are from: New Hampshire Your weight loss goals: 155, currently 184, started in Jan-14 at 220 Motivation: feeling younger & stronger, not embarrassing my toddler son, teaching him good habits, etc. Favorite Foods: birthday cake, ice cream, Smartfood Exercise Plans: New Rules…
  • Just did my first workout B in stage 2 and boy was it tough to stay balanced! I actually fell down once on the reverse lunge with forward reach, no problem just kind of crumpled up and ended on the floor. A little scary but okay. I found it tough to get full parallel on the Bulgarian split squats. Did bent over rows…
  • Thrilled to see that a few of you just started on Stage 2. I just started it this morning with workout A. It went fine, though I found the elevated static lunge pretty tough. I feel like my stride was not long enough. I am using dumbells for the squat move because the oly bar is too heavy. This is my first post in the…
  • I don't believe in following fad diets either, until now I guess. In January, I read an article about modified fasting every other day and thought why not, I will give it a shot. I love to eat and overeat and I hate restricting food groups. I have iron will for restricting just not every damn day. It is the best thing that…
  • I had it last year, doc sent me to physical therapy and that resolved it after maybe 8-10 weeks, 2 visits per. It included massage and hot and cold treatments, which were important for me because my muscles were so tight from overcompensating for the hip for a while. It also included a bunch of bodyweight exercises…
  • Bump for when I finish NROLFW
  • I wore mine the other day, didn't notice until I had finished my workout. Happens to me because I wear glasses all the time, but prescription shades for driving, sometimes I forget to switch. Not on purpose though, but it happens.
  • Well I'm no expert, but I think that scenario A helps shape your body underneath the fat, thus allowing the fat to look better, meaning you wear it better. Also, the muscles are ready to be shown off once the fat goes.
  • Been doing ADF or 4:3 for almost 5 months now, I love it! I am totally used to the fast days and know my go to meals, sometimes I go a little overboard on feast days (damn beer has a lot of calories) but it is still working. I make sure to work out on mornings following fasts so then I can eat afterward. Highly…
  • Hooray for IF. I have been doing EOD for 4 months now and I love it. I really think keeping a couple days of fasting around fior maintenance will be the key for me.
  • Thanks so much everyone, I feel much better after reading these supportive comments! I went closet shopping and came up with a nice pair of black pants, a fitted turquoise top with 3/4 sleeves and a necklace my son bought me at a craft fair. So I will be fine, the event is not about me anyway and I'm going to try to relax…
  • I had hip bursitis and got rid of it through physical therapy, where I did stretching and strengthening on my hip and building my core. The trainer told me the key for me to not get again is building a strong core. Had really let mine go following c-section.
  • Have you looked into the Every Other Day Diet? It is not for everyone, but I love it. You eat only 500 cal every other day, then whatever you want within reason the other days (2200-2700) for me. I can always get through the low day because I know the nice high cal day is coming tomorrow! Good luck with whatever you decide…
  • Been doing it since end of January and I am hooked! I love the freedom of the feast days, though I make sure not to go over 2700 and the 500 days have been fine. The first few were hard but then the hunger goes away and you are in the groove. I truly believe I will eat this way for years to come. Enjoy!
  • Thanks everyone. I think I will start with the machines, build up some confidence at the gym and a bit of strength. Then I will book the trainer for some free weights lessons.
  • I love hot dogs but to keep my meal at 420 cal I now eat two hot dogs, one bun. I just rip it in half and the dog sits on each half. I hold it together with a finger while dipping in a pool of mustard on the plate. I don't miss having a whole bun anymore. I do the same for a burger, but I cut the bun in half and put the…
  • Hi, I am one week into the Every other day diet and I have lost 5 lbs. Would be happy to add friends who suffer through fasting days too. Charleigh78- how do I find the large group you speak of? Fairly new to MFP. Thanks and best of luck to everyone!
