  • Hi, I know it's been a while since your responce. Obviously I haven't been doing very well. I've gained 3 pounds since my first post. Really I've gained 6, but I lost 3 of those. I lost my mom a month after I made that post and my life kind of went to hell. I'm trying to get back on track now though. I don't want my kids…

  • Please feel free to friend request me! I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2019. I was 39 at the time and 275 pounds. I got down to 192 pounds. I've been in remission since January of 2021, and unfortunately, I've gained back almost all of the weight. I'm currently 45 years old. My doctors are very concerned about my…
  • Thank you so much! I really want to find my "rowing." I'm hoping it will be swimming since right now that's pretty much the only thing I can actually do for any real amount of time. My amazing Granny is going to be 90 next week and goes to the gym 3 days a week. She just paid for a 6 month membership for me so that I can…
  • Thank you all for your responses. I've had a pretty tough 2020 so far. I've lost over 50 pounds since I posted last. My doctors and nurses fuss at me for not eating a lot, but it just hurts to use the bathroom. I am putting in an effort to eat more now. I just got my ostomy bag removed about a month and a half ago. That…
  • I’m sorry to hear about your husbands passing. Thank you for the kind words and suggestions.
  • I have spoken to my oncologist and he basically just said not to worry about my weight right now. I’m more concerned with once I get through the worst parts. I’ve never really been healthy and I’m just trying to figure out the steps and maybe get some healthy, but tasty, food options. Thank you for the support link. I’ll…
  • I can walk all day with no problem. I waited tables for 20 years. Food is my kryptonite. I’ll definitely try that couch25k
  • Thursday Truth: Hello everyone. This is my first time posting on this thread. I've been on and off of MFP for years. I'm at my highest weight EVER right now, 262. My lowest weight since the beginning of my journey was 187. That was in May of 2015. I've just been on a down slide since then. I'm trying to make it right now!!!
  • My goal for the year is just to live more healthy in general. Do a couple of 5 K's, eat less fried food, eat much less chocolate, and most importantly I want to stop finding every excuse to not work out!!! If I set a number goal to lose I'll fail. I need to look at the bigger picture.
  • Hi :) I've been here on and off for years and only have a handful of friends. I guess I don't get on the message boards enough.
  • I could have written that word for word. I'll try to help you and you can try to help me. Maybe between the 2 of us we can get it done for real :)
  • Hello. I lost a good amount of weight on MFP also in 2015 but I gained it all back plus some when I left. I actually started roller derby when I lost the weight. My name was Gozer the destructer (from Ghostbusters) It didn't last long because I moved away and started gaining the weight back very quickly. I have much more…
  • If he's super nice. I need someone who can sit with me at the dinner table and talk s**t about other people in the restaurant.
  • I feel old every time I go to work because I'm old enough to be their mother!!!
  • I confess that when I drink I under log my calories. I want to believe it's just 3 or 4 ounces but let's get real... It's probably more like 6 or 7 or 13
  • Hi everyone. I too am a serial starter. Sometimes I wish I would never have lost any weight in the first place because now people just expect me to do it again like it's easy. A couple of years ago I went from 237 to 189 pounds. Right after that, I moved away and stopped exercising and eating healthy. I've gone up and down…
  • Just outside of New Orleans
  • I'm in a group and we weigh in every Friday morning at 5am but I wasn't able to make it this morning and I had never exercised before our weigh in before. I couldn't weigh in before the class because the trainer who does the weigh ins wasn't there yet. It's not really a big deal, I was just wondering.
  • Gia07 I see that you don't see where I'm coming from and maybe I'm not explaining myself well enough for you. And that's fine. Please feel free to stop posting. Don't contribute to the 6 or 10 pages if you have such a problem with it.
  • I take a lot of classes. I enjoy spin, zumba, body pump, and body combat the most. I don't exercise to make up for the eating or anything. I genuinely enjoy it once I get started. When I keep up with my food log I generally eat between 1200 and 1400 calories.
  • I'm currently doing a weight loss competition at my gym. It has 7 weeks left. Before that I worked out about half as much, sometimes not at all. I thought the competition would help with the food issues. In a way it has. I'm not eating fast food at all and I make better choices when I go out to eat. It's when I'm home that…
  • I'm not looking for excuses. I've had enough of those on my own. I'm looking for advice. You've now given yours, so thank you.
  • I'm 36. 5'5 and I started at 251 pounds. I'm currently at 214. It has taken a couple years to lose this much. A lot of ups and downs. My ultimate goal is to be healthy. The number isn't particularly important but somewhere between 130 and 145 sounds good to me. The reason my diet is private is because I don't keep up with…
  • I'm also a compulsive eater. I tried OA but it just wasn't the right fit for me. I hope you find it works for you. The support on MFP is wonderful and everyone is very incouraging. They helped me get control for a while and I lost 52 pounds. Of course now I've relapsed and I'm just getting back on the horse, so to speak.…
  • It's a sacred heart with 2 cherub angels. Thanks :)
  • Monday Check-in... I actually went to the gym this morning!!! However, when I went in the locker room to get dressed I realized I didn't bring socks, but hey, I'm not letting that stop me. So I put my shoes on without socks. Super gross but I did it any way!!! Then I realize I didn't have my phone with me and of course…
  • Sunday Share: Hi, my name is Mitzi. I've been on MFP on and off for a few years. In 2011 I lost 52 pounds. By the end of the year I had already started gaining it back. Then last year I lost 30 pounds. I've gained back 16 of those. All in all I've kept off 27-30 pounds, give or take, depending on the time of day I weigh in…
  • I also like to drink, and I don't know what it means to have 1 drink. I mean really, why bother. You just have to work it off and save the calories. I had 4 glasses of wine tonight and didn't go over my calories. I had a very sensible day so I felt comfortable having the wine.
  • Thank you all so much for the responses.
