To JaneJellyRole: I use MFP to track the food and macros, otherwise I would have to do it on paper which is so lame. It isn't really a different plan than mfp, it is just using macros to determine what you should eat instead of calories. The reasoning is because I can drink 1600 calories of wine and have no nutrition, but…

In the plan I am doing it is based on macros, so you dont eat back the calories earned. I have that disabled on MFP, so that i eat the same every day, whether i work out or not.

The elliptical is very different from running on the solid ground. Although I applaud your work out (seriously, great job!), running a 5k on solid ground would be a farily fast, about the average women's sprint, where as the elliptical equivalent is not really comparable.

Carbs are made of sugar, fiber, and other things. The carbs from fiber don't raise your insulin so those are good ones. If you are going to have carbs, make them high fiber. The carbs made of sugar will create an insulin response. This in itself wont make you gain weight but it is not something you want at every meal.…

Perhaps one reason is because you don't ever lose fat cells once they have been created, the cells just shrink with weight loss. Now, it takes less energy for cells to expand than to conduct mitosis and create new fat cells. So, once the cells have been created, or once you gain a significant amount of weight, you will…

I wear tights. It is a bit cold where I live to wear shorts. I think without chonies the seems would rub in bad places.

And to answer some other questions people had for me: Gaining "Everything back" on 1700 really means every pound I lost I gained back. Even added 3 lbs extra to be 178 at one points (I think it was water weight). 5 lbs came off sometime when I wasn't logging but it changes with water weight. I stick close to 170. Today I…

I feel like we are in the same boat. My TDEE -20 was like 1700...I gained on that. Maintained on 1500. Lost at 1200. I measure everything.

In reply to this, I am wondering if I just had my calories on the lower side even when i wasnt logging and therefor 1700 wasnt really a deficit. I just dont understand how I would have gained 25lbs since high school though if I was eating low calorie.

From Jan 2013 to March I was at 1200 cals, I lost about 13-15lbs. (I weighed 165lbs) Then March I did 1400 (maintained weight) April to may I saw the nutritionist and did 1700 cals but a lot of days toward the end were 1500 because i started gaining quickly and freaked. By July I was 170lbs again (5 less than I started) I…

Sara, I am not offended at all. I havent been tested. I saw a nutritionist and she suggested I consider it if I dont lose on a 1700 cal plan where I only eat back extreme workouts (10k, half marathon, crazy hihkes), not normal ones (hour at gym). I didn't lose on that, actually gained about 4 lbs. That weight came off when…

I should have explained I just came off a 3 month break but I was an avid logger, weigher of food, from January to about July. That is when i experimented with everything, 1200, 1400, 1500, 1700, and not logging (but keeping concious of intake and output). Also, during my break I had the same grocery list and the same…

Hey Sara! I did 1200 cals back in january for 2.5 months and I logged 206 days in a row then (moving up to and back down from 1700, 1500, 1400). I just came back to logging on MFP. It has been a week and I am 1 lbs down on the 1200. Thats how I know it worked for me, because it did in the past and it is again already.

Thanks to those who are supportive of the "what works for you" method :) I have just noticed, as most have, that anyone here who is on a low caloire diet gets bashed heavily on this site and I just wanted to advocate for those who feel pressured to change whats working for them just because someone else says so.

@AIMFORHEALTHY You look amazing! Like I would never think you weigh close to what I weigh. It must be in all the perfect places. I am a pescatarian so I eat fish, eggs, minimal cheese, and vegetables. Recently tried to reduce carbs; that is the only thing I struggle with. I am over them a lot but I have them set to 30% so…

@ndj I tried 1700 and 1500, and 1400 and didnt lose (I stuck with them a couple months each). I stay about the same minus water weight flux. Some days I eat allll day but I am eating broccoli and spinach and spaghetti squash so I am eating a lot and getting nutrients but I am ending at 1200. I dont feel like I will binge…

Thanks for calling me petite haha. I wish! I am actually 5'8" and 169lbs.

no biggie :)

It depends on what I eat. If I have a higher carb dinner, I am hungry again but if I have full fat yogurt or a half an avocado the fat keeps me full all night.

...and 500 is wayy low. That is harming your body and is no way healthy. I would not condone that. I eat about 1200 calories, if I eat 1400 it's because I burned 200. Look at my profile pic, I am obviously an eater.
