What is my activity level?
Hi All, I am having hard time determining my activity level for a macro based dietary plan. Currently I work out with a trainer Monday and Weds for an hour. This is mostly circuit type exercises with kettle bells or the cable machine. My heart rate doesn't get super high, but I do feel sore the next day. I also take about…

Fitness watch WITHOUT Bluetooth?
Hey all! I am looking for a watch that can track my approximate calorie burn all day long so I can set goals to burn more every day. It doesn't need to be perfectly accurate because it is just a goal setting thing for me. However, it cannot have bluetooth or send any kind of signal. I work in a restricted space and no cell…

I have seen friends get awesome healthy at 1800 calories TDEE method and also on the 1200 calorie eat back your workouts method. I also havea friend who worked out hard, including…

Any Diabetic/Low Glycemic Index Pescatarians?
Hey everyone, I am just interested in looking at the diaries of people who are doing this diet because I know carbs (bad carbs) have been a big factor as to why I am always hungry and always gaining. I used to be a “calories in calories out” kind of person, which I still know this works for weight loss, but I am concerned…

Holistic Medicine, Low Carb-High Fat Diet
I just stumbled upon this website trying to find relief from wisdom tooth pain and discovered clove tea, which I am currently drinking and it is helping a great deal. However, I noticed the weight loss tab and took a gander. Some interesting information in there about fats and insulin resistance. Being a pescatarian there…

Back after taking a break....
Hello all! I will have been on MFP for a year in January. I did the 1200 cal thing at first, lost 15 lbs, slowly went up to 1500-1700 cals, gained ti all back, and got a little too obsessed with calories that I didn't have the energy to meet my fitness goals. So anyway, I took time off, reevaluated, and I am back. This…

Question: running on sand?
Hey all! I am a beginning runner/jogger/crawler. I completed a 5k and can usually run 3 miles on a workout so I signed up for a 10k with my friend. However, I didn't realize it is on hard packed sand. I am considering getting new shoes for this. Any ideas on what type would be best for that kind of surface? I am a mid foot…

I have horrible self esteem....
I really do. I have break downs in front of the mirror often. I hate my body way more often than I have ever loved it. I see the same feelings with a lot of people on here as well so I thought I would share something I watched a few years ago that changed my perspective. Last night I had a bad self-image night so today I…

I know everyone asks this but...
What should I really trust. Should I trust MFP and eat 1400 net calories or should I go by this TDEE calculator. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ and eat 1922 total calories. I just had my 80th day on MFP and I have lost 13 lbs (but sometimes my weight varries) but I don't look any better. My BF% went from 30…

For Vegetarians and Vegans. Shocking!
The question came up in the Happy Herbivore group of what foods may have hidden animal products. I took a minute to google it and found some really surprising things. Orange Juice with sheep fat in it, red candies colored with crushed beetles, gelatin in peanuts! Um freaked out! Here is one of the links.…

BMI Visualizer
Take this with a grain of salt because everyone's body is different, but I thought this may help people who have no idea what to fill in for their goal weight. i did notice that when ilooked visually i wanted a much lower BMI than was healthy. Scared to eat more.

If I go by TDEE and not eat back workout calories I am usually 31% or more under a day. If I go by MFP standards and eat my…
