I am 5'4" and 234 lbs. I feel like I am looked down on a lot. You are not alone. Some people do judge, but I think we are our harshest critics. Try not to take it to heart, but also remember who the mean people are when you reach your goal weight.

Welcome!

My doctor recommended it to help get my blood pressure down, but I just can't afford to eat THAT healthy

Best decision that I ever made was joining match.com. I met my husband four years ago next weekend on match.com. But, yes, he had to do all the leg work and reach out to me.

Luckily, I only gained 20 lbs with my daughter. I was 21 years old and lost all 20 lbs by my 6 week follow up visit. My understanding, however, is that this is not normal. Biggest tip is to breast feed, as this is supposed to help you lose weight faster. But, those first few months with a newborn are crazy, so don't be too…

My Hubby does the 30 day shred and, if finances is a concern, all three steps are available on you tube for free.

Wow! I had no idea! I avoid breads, potatoes, and pasta, but I eat tons of broccoli and peanut butter!
-
I am ashamed, but I have to admit that I put on my hubby's fuzzy pajama pants to take the dog for a walk the other night. I would never wear my own, but for some reason, his dark blue plaid pants in the dark in my own neighborhood didn't bother me. But I am with you, I can't wear pj's in public.

Don't give up. My weight fluctuated by 3 lbs in one day. I drank a ton of water (7 cups) and it went back down the next. Give it another week before you kick yourself, I never knew water weight could fluctuate that much!

before you do something as drastic as lipo, have you tried something like Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred to help tone you up. I only mention that one because it is fee on youtube.

I have an underactive thyroid. When I turned 31, I weighed 230 lbs and decided to start dieting. I couldn't lose a thing! and even gained 10 lbs! My doctor tested my TSH and put me on synthroid, but I still couldn't lose weight. Honestly, I wasn't trying hard enough. I still ate out, didn't exercise (except for the…

I take synthroid (which I am told by my doctor is one of the most natural and healthiest things to take). I struggled for about a year and a half to lose weight, but with no luck. Now, I have cut back on my carbs (no bread, pasta, or potatoes; but I still eat crackers, tortillas, chips) and with the synthroid, I have lost…

You are truly and inspiration!

I just joined. I have two daughters, 11 and 7 and have been married for 3 years. Excited for this year because this is the year the weight is coming off!

my hubby uses circuit training to log it.

Egg muffins are one of the best things anyone has suggested to me!

I just fit into a ring that I hadn't been able to wear in almost a year. And I am now joining the ranks of cold blooded animals in my office. LUV IT!

a lot of people have lost weight with Helloitsdan's advice, but I couldn't bring myself to try. Too scared of gaining instead.

great job! My hubby is doing this and he is very happy with his results. I just can't get off my lazy butt to do it, yet.

You are in for a long hard road! When I met my step-daughter, she was 3 years old and would only eat carbs (mashed potatoes and french fries, buiscuits and rolls). She might have eaten the occassional applesauce, but that is it! I am soooo not exaggerating. She had her father convinced she had a touchy gag reflex and would…

I am there with you. The smallest that I remember being (outside of middle school) was a 12, and that was pre kids. Honestly, I love my curves, it's just the rolls in between that I need to get rid of ;-)
-
I am definately going to try these too!
-
I don't have much time for oatmeal, but you just gave me a great idea for some pre-prepared, home-made fruit cups. Yum!
-
Thanks for all the great ideas!

Keep it up! A plateau is not two days, wait a week and see what happens. You have to build some muscle so it can burn those calories. Whatever you do, don't give up. If you keep at it and it doesn't work, go to the doctor and have them check your TSH levels (your thyroid). There are new studies that show that what they…

I feel you! I would love to be almost 100lbs lighter than I am. In my head, I am about 70 lbs lighter, so I am severely disappointed every time I look in the mirror. What I have found is that I use my weight to keep others away. If I hate myself, then no one else could possibly love me. But, that changes this year! Hang in…
