Busy routine but I still need to exercise

I have a busy routine, I'm at school from 9 until 6 and because it's an exam year my workload will often continue until half eight or nine. Because it's dark out my parents aren't always happy with me leaving the house to go for a run by myself. I try to get up early enough to do things like squats, push ups and so forth, and I have a basic routine. Does anyone know any good exercises I can do while I'm either sitting at school or that I can do after 9pm that will give me a good, high calorie burning workout?

DVDs are always a good option, and you can do it before or after school. And they are usually about 20-30 minutes long.
Jillian Michaels 30 day shred is a good start.. There are plenty of others out there, im sure there will be similar suggestions with other DVDs to try.0 -
If you have safety concerns, why not just join a gym and go there after school?0

I am in the same boat! I do a lot of videos from hasfit.com and I have a few dvds I use!0

I agree- DVDs are great! YouTube has a ton of great videos too, including 30 Day Shred, and other Jillian Michaels videos. An MFP friend of mine also made this:

It's clips from different Zumba videos. If you click "Play All" you get a super-fun 45 minute cardio workout. I LOVED it, and I don't love most exercises, lol!
Also, and don't laugh at me, but the Flirty Girl Fitness DVDs are a great workout! I never saw the ads but I've heard they make those videos out to be "stripper classes" but honestly, after seeings tons of Zumba videos, it looks like they just took Zumba moves and gave them cutesy/sexy names. I do "Booty Beat" and "Booty Beat 2"- they're fun and effective!0 -
I feel your pain. I'm a newish attorney and therefore spend hours and hours billing. I usually start around 6am and go at least 'till 7pm (seven days a week). By the time I've finished with work and all of life's other chores, I've just about run out of daylight.
For exercise, I find workouts on YouTube, buy workout DVD's (the Jillian Michaels DVDs are around $8 a pop), and I keep weights at my desk (I take breaks and do a few reps. The lifing, besides helping me tone muscle, wakes me up and I'm able to avoid drinking caffeine like so many of co-workers do.
Good luck.0 -
My Hubby does the 30 day shred and, if finances is a concern, all three steps are available on you tube for free.0

Because it's too far for me to be going down and back every evening.
Thanks for the other suggestions you guys, I'll try it0 -
Virtually all schools have a gym and some have excellent workout facilities that are either free or really cheap to students. Depending on schedule, you may be able to get to school early and get a nice workout in...maybe meet some people your age too since it sounds like you're living at home. If your schedule permits you may also want to sign up for a gym class of some sort depending on your interests and fit it into your regular school hours. Getting out to exercise and being with others may also help with some of your blue feelings...have fun with it!0

bump for ideas. Good luck with your busy, busy schedule!0
