  • i have just increase my saturated fat consumption - My blood pressure is down, cholesterol levels are down and I have lost weight.
  • sounds too scary - after years of trying to lose weight and finally finding something that works I am not sure I want to risk changing back to eating carbs in any quantity - ~I might become hooked again. Be interested to see if anyone else has tried though
  • I have the same problem and found if i went too low the weight loss slowed. When i log my food for the day, if I am way under my calories i just eat a piece of cheese or some nuts( almond or brazil) to bring my calories up but not the carbs.
  • had mine checked after 3 months on low carb and found to my astonishment it had dropped considerably - i was border line meds and now down to near normal. keep at, it will work.

  • definite foe - only weigh once a week maximum - but I am trying to get to only weighing once a month! fluctuations on a daily basis were too frustrating. That said, they do seem to shout at me across the room, I have tried hiding them to make it easier to not get fixated.
  • Couldn't agree more re harder for women as they get older. - hit the menopause at 40 and T2 diabetes shortly afterwards. Over the past 13 years my weight has flucutated but seems to have been steadily rising. i am now following low carb with some sucess. May be worth trying

  • 2 weeks in and i have lost 9lbs - been really encouraged by the significant weight loss of others - it is inspiring. i have found it very difficult to lose weight now i am in the over 50 group. I think the support on MFP is brilliant
  • Type 2 diabetic trying low carb - not quite paleo, but it has made a significant difference to my blood sugars- down to normal range within 2 weeks after several months at very high levels. Success
