  • Huge congratulations
  • this so annoys me - please do not comment on something you haven't tried I have been low carb /high fat since Christmas - I have lost weigh; reduced my blood pressue;cholesterol levels and blood sugars - so what's not healthy? I have not felt so well in years - went out last night and was the first on the dance floor and…
  • hi - yes, this is quite a common problem when low carbing, but if you don't eat enough you will not lose. I found the answer was to up my fat intake - and saturated fat at that. i have found this the most difficult thing to do - much harder than going without bread or potato. I am fighting 40 years of low fat/high carb =…
  • i have just increase my saturated fat consumption - My blood pressure is down, cholesterol levels are down and I have lost weight.
  • sounds too scary - after years of trying to lose weight and finally finding something that works I am not sure I want to risk changing back to eating carbs in any quantity - ~I might become hooked again. Be interested to see if anyone else has tried though
  • I have the same problem and found if i went too low the weight loss slowed. When i log my food for the day, if I am way under my calories i just eat a piece of cheese or some nuts( almond or brazil) to bring my calories up but not the carbs.
  • had mine checked after 3 months on low carb and found to my astonishment it had dropped considerably - i was border line meds and now down to near normal. keep at, it will work.
  • totally understand - my office always has cakes/biscuits out for everyone to share and to make it even more difficult they are alway at the end of my row of desks so i have to pass them to go to the toilet/printer/speak to a colleague/ get a coffee (where there are always more cakes etc in the kitchen) At Christmas we were…
  • fantastice news - i am still on my jouney to the normal range, but have just come out of morbidly obese into just obese -lol, stories like yours are my inspiration. thank you for sharing
  • I have had a stupid grin on my face all day - and was found in the office singing and dancing, I thought it was only about weight loss! Feeling the best I have in years. Why is this diet so frowned upon by most in the medical field.
  • well said - I couldn't agree more. I sometimes feel my head is spinning with all the advice. Like you I am trying to find out what works for me and that I can stick with
  • definite foe - only weigh once a week maximum - but I am trying to get to only weighing once a month! fluctuations on a daily basis were too frustrating. That said, they do seem to shout at me across the room, I have tried hiding them to make it easier to not get fixated.
  • Couldn't agree more re harder for women as they get older. - hit the menopause at 40 and T2 diabetes shortly afterwards. Over the past 13 years my weight has flucutated but seems to have been steadily rising. i am now following low carb with some sucess. May be worth trying
  • really interesting - thank you
  • me too - was due to weigh tomorrow but will put the scales away until March!
  • 2 weeks in and i have lost 9lbs - been really encouraged by the significant weight loss of others - it is inspiring. i have found it very difficult to lose weight now i am in the over 50 group. I think the support on MFP is brilliant
  • Type 2 diabetic trying low carb - not quite paleo, but it has made a significant difference to my blood sugars- down to normal range within 2 weeks after several months at very high levels. Success
