thanks everyone. i think that i was thinking SL wouldn't be right for me just based on what i know about it, which clearly is incorrect or incomplete. i'll look in to it more. i'm pretty sure my form is good but again, i'll check. i really appreciate all the feedback!

hi there. i'm 5'8" so i clicked on your link! our BMR is probably at least 1500, and you really shouldn't eat below that unless you're morbidly obese. honestly you're already at a pretty low weight for your height and wanting to go lower, you need to go slow. set your goal to lose 1/2 a lb a week. it's slow going, but you…

i would suggest calling a health store like GNC and asking one of the associates...they probably have a good working knowledge of what scales they offer. unfortunately i don't know any myself.

you're correct all around. you don't need to lose at a rate of 2 lbs a week with only 20 lbs to lose, hence the huge seeming deficit. for severely overweight people, a 1,000/day defiicit might still mean they're eating over 2000 calories. change your goal to 1 lb/week

if you eat 1500 calories, and burn 500, you've effectively only taken in 1000 calories. you could achieve the same result by simply eating 1000 calories and not exercising. MFP sets your goal based on net calories - you are expected to eat back your calories you burn through exercise to create a reasonable net deficit. not…

it's great with most fruit - strawberries, cantaloupe, pineapple, watermelon - and you can add cinnamon/vanilla/sweetener too and it's like ice cream. i wouldn't bother shelling out big bucks for the flavored versions; just get a big tub of plain and then flavor it however you want.

i can't remember the exact post but if someone could point OP to it, that'd be great...it was by sidesteel, heybales or sara i believe... but it explains the difference between semi starvation and starvation mode. what a lot of people refer to on here as "starvation" mode is really semi-starvation mode. you're eating below…

well i don't think it's nice to make us all out to be greedy just because we get paid for plasma donation. for blood donation, it is illegal to be paid and has been for decades. plasma is a different story.

this is good. it's ridiculous that she would spend money on something she doesn't like, even if you hadn't discussed with her why you don't want it in the house. just tell yourself it's not yours, so you can't eat it anyway. when it's still there 6 months later unopened, she'll feel like a fool.

i say it depends on your comfort level. i'm a C (was a D before i lost weight) and for me, there's just too much movement there to be comfortable without a bra.

ok maybe that's just me not understanding the fitbit/mfp relationship

i've just got to point out that you're not doing TDEE-20% correctly. you are supposed to eat the same amount every day based on your general activity level, not go by a sedentary TDEE and then eat back calories. if your workout schedule isn't regular enough that you think you can trust your TDEE, then you need to go back…

this is not a plateau. when you haven't lost anything in 6 months, maybe you start to worry. just give it some more time.

any OTC drug that incapacitates you is not something you should be taking on a regular basis. you answered your own question.

here's a kind of progress post i did. i started at 185 and i'm not really sure what my goal weight is. i'm not weighing for June and i want to see how i feel at the end of the month. similarly sized women losing weight the healthy way can feel free to add me :-) also, i consider myself an hourglass shape.…
