I do it very often if I'm working. I know what I'll be eating as I've brough a packed lunch in so I add it on the bus on the way in to work to save time later. If I don't eat everything then I can always remove it later (it's rare I don't eat all my lunch though, I didn't get this size by accident!)

I wouldn't put it quite so bluntly, but I would certainly question if it is wise to do this or long term sustainable. Our body needs glucose (if it didn't then we wouldn't have a pancreas!) I certainly would question Lustig's research as there's quite a few inaccuracies and ommisions in his work (his description of the…

I wouldn't personally think of that as making the food bad though. Trans fats are still fine to eat in moderation, it's again all about recognising which foods are sensible everyday and which are better being left for occasional consumption.

If tapping a few buttons is too much effort for you then you're not going to do well at this.

Is 1200 calories enough? What does MFP say you should be consuming based on the stats you entered? You could possibly be eating too little, which can be just as detrimental to weight loss as eating too much. Also, 2 weeks is a short amount of time. How long did it take you to put ON the weight? I'm assuming if you're…

I eat while I'm cooking because I know that I'm not going to be able to stop myself anyway. It helps me to prepare the veg first, then I can have a little pot of pepper or carrot or something to munch on and it stops me munching on stuff that's higher in calories and wasting them.

Because you are burning calories working out and therefore need to eat more to maintain the same calorie deficit. The calorie target already has a deficit built in for you, if you work out, then you are earning yourself more calories whilst losing the same amount of weight.

There are no good or bad foods. You've hit the nail on the head there yourself which is binge eating of them. If you were binge eating any other food, it would also make you gain. Eat and drink within your macros and move your body more and don't be afraid of food. You should remember that whilst it sometimes feels…

I agree with this. The whole "don't reward yourself with food" concept for me is back to the old concept of good and bad foods. I firmly believe in a diet in the traditional sense (the Panda eats a diet of shoots and leaves) not in the sense of a crash diet so I'm not going to cut chocolate, crisps, pizza and beer out of…

I've gone from Weight Watchers to MFP too. So far had two strong loss weeks since starting and I'm eating largely the same foods as before so it all seems to be working. I liked the WW concept but other than a few token gestures, it feels like they're largely uninterested in men so meetings feel quite uncomfortable and I…

Hot dog sausages. Not the proper premium german franfurters made with choice cuts but the pink sludge sticks that come in a can and have about 3% pork. We tend to refer to them as "bumhole sausages" in our house. I don't eat them that often any more, but every now and then I'll have a hankering for one and buy a can.

It might be one for your doctor to answer as I would have thought with a chronic condition it could vary from person to person, but weight training springs to mind as it doesn't work your cardiovascular system too much but it does burn a lot of fat. You can do it sat watching TV too so you have your home comforts if you…

I think the problem is that there are hundreds and hundreds of different supplements that all state they will help with weight loss and none of them ever do, but it seems there's lots and lots of posts every day that ask "is supplement x any good?" so I assume people are a little fed up of answering the questions. I would…

Simply eat and drink normally. Don't starve or dehydrate yourself to minimise the number. The main thing is to try and do it at about the same time and in the same conditions each week. The absolute number is not as important as the relative loss between this time last week and this time this week. If you think about it,…

There are no magic beans. It will make you lighter if you carry all your money in coin form but if you use notes and cards like the rest of us, you'll weigh the same as you would without using it. A quick Google tells me that they claim their glorified salt shaker is "doctor created" however the doctor in question turns…

I'd like to know this too. Sounds bloody lovely.

It's dependant on the veg. Potatos and Parsnips and other starchy foods CAN be quite high in calories compared to come other vegetables and a lot of fruit is quite high. On WW, I would get through 3 or 4 bananas a day and I assumed the calories were minimal, in fact it's about 100 calories a banana so I'm being a bit more…

Water is water. A group of people will be along shortly to tell you that you will die if you don't drink exactly 8 glasses of pure unadulterated tap water a day. They are talking from a theoretical point of view and although the science is correct, people who drink only other substances aren't dropping dead around us so…

Carrot sticks or celery with a cream cheese dip works nicely for me. Crispbreads too, healther and quicker than toast but the same satisfying crunch. Cheese in smallish quantities works well too and as a source of protein fills you up nicely, same for eggs.

At the top of the screen you should see "exercise" in the tabs. Click on that and then click "add exercise" and you can add exercises by name from there.

In the UK, you don't even see the amount of cholesterol listed on a food and I still find it strange to see and hear people talking about the amount of cholesterol in food rather than just looking at where the calories come from overall.

I would suggest a source of protein is probably quite the right route to be going. I've found that having a decent amount of protein in my breakfast helps keep me more full through the day so I don't feel the need to snack as much as I used to. Going by the use of almond milk and the lack of meat, are you Vegan? If so I'd…

I'm half deaf; hearing works on the left side but the right ear is just there to keep my sunglasses in place.

I think it's about mindset. If you are thinking "this food is good but this food is bad" then you are missing out a little in my opinion. If you think of it as "I can eat what I like, as long as I'm within these boundaries" then you will enjoy your food and you'll start to develop a better relationship with it. You don't…

The more energy you use, the more you end up with. It's weird, but exercise seems to be exponential like that. I sleep less and get more done since I started exercising more. The difficult part is starting so you can get to that point. I think the key thing is, do you actually WANT to go on an elliptical trainer? It seems…
