What disease are you taking it for? A few years ago I spent a year and a half on prednisone. I ballooned up, mostly because I was eating whatever and not working out. This used to be fine but not on prednisone. I gained a lot. If you eat right and work out you can counter act those effects. You WILL retain water weight a…

As an avid runner currently with my legs taped up and icing...check out Pereoneal Tendonitis. That sounds like what you are experiencing. It's generally just an over use injury that can be fixed with a couple days off and some icing.

I am also training for my first half. I'll switch to half marathon training after my 5K next weekend. Mine is in October, feel free to add me!

Road Running > machines. It'll help your form so much more. If you can I would road run. Do whatever you are most comfortable with though as long as you get it in.

This is 100% the reason. I will try to find the article with the actual study results though.

No there's actually studies show that you should lift first. I am currently marathon training myself. It has to do with mental sharpness at first. I'll try to find the article/study.
-
Also - if you run and lift on the same day, always do your lifts first.

1-2 days a week of rest as needed depending on your body. I usually do 3 days of strength training with a cross train (Elliptical, bike, swim) etc. I then run on the alternate days, with a rest day somewhere in there. Some days instead of a cross train I run instead.

Welcome to the runner's world! I have my first 5K since high school ( 4-5 years) next weekend. I've been slowly getting into shape for it the last few months. I also just registered for my first half-marathon ever in October. Feel free to add if you need a runner friend. Good luck with the training!
-
Any runners especially can feel free to add me. 22 here. Running a 5K next weekend and then I start training for a half marathon in October. I will be running 20-40 miles a week.
-
I did my own fitness plan from roughly couch to 5K. My first run is next week ( actual race not just training) and I am moving into training for a .5 marathon. Feel free to add me here/on the running apps.

If you're throwing out the IQ argument, then chances are you aren't...

Yes. I believe the immaturity and general lack of intelligence here had to be noted.

I'm also generally a nighttime runner, more because of my work schedule than anything. Headphones do a wonder to distract me and I always go for nicer shoes. You may not feel it now, but after a couple months you will. A properly fitting shoe makes or breaks many runners. Try a local running shop for a true fit and talk…
