  • He might be concerned about your knees and ankles which can take a beating when running. However, if you're in relatively good health then I would advise seeing an MD for a check-up and let her/him know you would like to start running and see what his/her opinion is. (Wow terrible English grammar there LOL!)
  • Wow that's pretty impressive. I work out pretty hard on the elliptical every day for 70 minutes. By the end of which my t-shirt looks like I took a shower in it and I generally burn between 900 - 1000 cals (according to my garmin). So nice job!

  • Ninerbuff is dead on right. I'd also add, take all your measurements and keep track of those on a weekly/bi-weekly basis. They can give you a better indication of progress than strictly weight, especially when first starting. You 'll be building muscle and the scale will tell you that you haven't lost much. It lies. ;)

  • I'm guessing you work outside of your house? If so, then it's easier to be good when those tempting snacks aren't ten steps away. I had to ask my wife not to buy the junk/snack stuff to help me get out of the habit of stopping in the kitchen during the commercial breaks! Now she hides the kids pop-tarts so I don't have to…
  • I'm a drummer and my wrists click and pop constantly. I joke that it's the extra pops that give my drumming flare! Doc says nothing wrong just some of us make more noise than others. ;)

  • I had the same problem, I finally ended up just getting up at about my normal time and following my routine, all except going to work. The plus side is that it feels like I have a much longer weekend since I'm not lazing around in bed. :)
  • Personnally, I like to run to old 80s rock. As a drummer I find myself trying to stay in step with the beat and anything too fast and I end up sprinting. The other thing is to check out streaming music like Pandora. They let you customize by genre and you can like/dislike by song. Then go back later and get a list of songs…
  • I'd just say that you cannot target a specific area for fat loss. Situps until your back breaks won't help you loose belly fat any faster than squats would. Try some strength training mixed in to build up muscles and see if that doesn't help the belly fat go . :)
