  • That is too funny!!! I do the same thing!! If it's within the goal, why not? It's actually got some health benefits too! :drinker:
  • Oh well!! Thanks folks for the responses!!!
  • Thank you all for your responses! I don't have high blood pressure or other health issues but I will really try to cut down the sodium and am looking for low sodium soup recipes.
  • I've read about this because I was interested too. It involves "tricking" your metabolism. If you eat less cals one day and more the next, your metabolism is supposed to really kick in. I've been afraid to try it though. I've been on here now for 40 straight days and I just can't seem to make my myself really overeat now!!…
  • I've been shouting it from the rooftops!!! I also got several of the ladies from my office on her too!! It's all about accountability. Give it a shot!!
  • I was a very good girl. I only ate 22 round tortilla chips (130 cals) and salsa (40 cals) and about 20 raw mini shrimp (5 cals each) with cocktail sauce (50 cals). I was so proud of myself!! And my team WON!!!!!
  • I'm referring to people who think they can just pig out for a day. I just feel that is self-defeating. We can eat whatever we want if we allot for it and don't overdo it. That's what I mean. Everyone does things their own way. I just find it interesting that people are looking for approval to do it. I am absolutely not…
  • Don't slack off!!! It's self-defeating. I think everyone is looking for someone to say it's okay to cheat. I personally don't think so. If you do, the guilt of the fleeting pleasure is often a reason to continue the self-defeating behavior. Just keep at the lifestyle change and allot yourself little treats here and there.…
  • Thanks everyone!!!
  • My new mini-trampoline and fitness ball is definitely fun and challenging. I can do 30 solid minutes on the trampoline and I dance and act silly and flail my arms and do jumping jacks on it. It's a great burn and you really feel those muscles burning. Plus, it's good for your joints as it's low-impact! But it is a GREAT…
  • I just asked how to log in fitness ball because it is core training. Haven't heard yet! Waiting to find out.

  • I just read here a lot that you shouldn't go far under your cals or you go into starvation mode. I just want to do the best I can. I'm a little hungry but nothing a few celery sticks can't cure!! Thanks for your opinions!!
  • I've asked this question before and no one responded. If you google "calorie cycling" you will find some interesting information that makes perfect sense. Changing up your calories so that you "fool" your metabolism. Check it out!!
  • Welcome Nycky!! This is definitely a wonderful place. Lots of support and motivation. It is a difficult journey, but well worth it. Sometimes it seems that all I think about is what I cannot eat and its a bummer. Then I tell myself that if I eat something I shouldn't, I'll feel bad about it and that's not good, so I bite…
  • No MrsMills, I don't have a HRM. But I know how to take my pulse!! Does that count??
  • This has been the most amazing website. There is great info here and wonderful support! I finished my first week and it hasn't been easy but it's definitely been rewarding. I'm actually having fun now logging in everything and I can't wait to log in my exercise (even if it isn't much). Whatever you do, DON'T GIVE UP!!!…
  • I am so sorry about your situation. But there are things you can do in one room. I was just looking at those things online last night since I can't afford Wii or gyms. Jumpin jacks are great, jogging in place, stretching, crunches, squats. Google "exercise with no equipment" and there are a lot of things you can do. If you…
  • I know it is so much harder on weekends. But if you've done great all weak, don't cheat yourself by overeating. My hubby is skinny so he needs to gain and I need to lose, so it is definitely a challenge. But it has been okay since I'm extremely motivated. I'm actually excited about what I'm doing. In fact, I just ordered a…
  • It's the little victories that win the war!!! Keep up the good work!!!
  • I truly believe that if you keep your mindset on your ultimate goal, it will get easier. I've only been on this for one week and it has been a rude awakening. It is not easy, but each little victory makes me keep going. We all get discouraged, but you are worth getting past that and being the person you know you can be. I…
  • Definitely eating several small meals throughout the day helps you feel like you're not starving! Also, I found sugar free fudgcicles (40 cals) and they are excellent. It satisfies my chocolate craving really well. We think about a lot now since we are so aware of what we are eating. I look at labels at the grocery store…
  • Brandi I feel your pain girl! I am also a coca-cola fanatic. I haven't had a soda for 6 days. I drink water or get the sugar free singles to add to the water. Soda is just empty calories. Not that you can never drink it again. Just make it a treat every once in awhile!!! Best of luck to you!!!!

  • Believe it or not, breakfast food (bacon, eggs) in moderation is NOT bad at all. Cereal is not a bad breakfast choice or a snack choice. Fresh veggies with low fat dressing is also a good snack (hardly any calories in the veggies). Fruits have more of everything than I thought so I eat those sparingly. Also, you MUST get…
  • You hit the nail right on the head. As a fellow sister in Christ, I understand exactly how you feel. I've been there and done too many times to count. I'm in it for real this time too!!! I'd like to be your friend if you don't mind. Fight the good fight! Many blessings!! Jen :flowerforyou:
  • Thank you all so much!!!
  • I'm just finishing my first week too and I lost 7 lbs. That in itself is motivation enough to keep going!!! This is a wonderful site and even more wonderful people!. WELCOME!!!!
  • Hello! This is day 6 for me also and this is the greatest thing to help with weight loss. The encouragement is great and I love doing my food diary. It truly keeps you honest!!! It really is a lifestyle change but once you see the pounds start to fall off, it is such a great encouragement! Glad you're here! Just believe in…
