so based on what I ate today, the system told me i was taking in too FEW calories and to up it to 1200/day!! 8 out of 10 days are like what I ate today-problem is I sit on my *kitten* all day except for taking care of my kids. I'm confined to one room, all day/night with two toddlers. I can't go outside-where we stay is HORRID, not safe. No car, no friends, no parks or anything around. No space to even set up my wii and exercise-literally confined to the one bedroom my fam of four shares. How am I supposed to lose this weight if I can't go anywhere or do anything? Does anyone have fibromyalgia?? I also deal with the pain from that. I don't know what to do

I am so sorry about your situation. But there are things you can do in one room. I was just looking at those things online last night since I can't afford Wii or gyms. Jumpin jacks are great, jogging in place, stretching, crunches, squats. Google "exercise with no equipment" and there are a lot of things you can do. If you can, get a mini trampoline ($30 from Wal-Mart). That is a great way to burn calories in a small space. Just don't give up!! Discouragement is our worst enemy!! Praying for ya!!! :flowerforyou:0

Just so you know when they calculate your calories that you should be eating it is based on a sedentary lifestyle if that is what you put in. You should still lose weight if you were following the plan they set for you.
It doesn't sound like a fun position you are in though. I hope it is only temporary. You can do jumping jacks or running in place. You said you have little children, try crawling around with them and use them to help you lose. Lift them up and down over your head that will help them have fun and you will get some exercise. You can even lift them up on your feet to play airplane that will help you use your leg muscles.
I hope this help.0 -
We just moved from a horribly unsafe neighborhood ourselves, so I know what it's like to be confined like that. But there are things you can do with the kiddos to get you all the exercise you need.
Crank up some fun music and dance! Do silly moves and see if the kids can copy you, and then have them make up moves that you can copy.
Have a parade. Use toy instruments, or if you dont' have any, make drums out of oatmeal containers or lidded bowls, and make shakers out of lidded cups filled with dry rice or beans. March to a rhythm that you set, and try to help the kids find the rhythm. Make rhythm patterns and see if they can pound out the beat with their feet.
Take the cushions off the couch and play "quicksand." You have to jump from one cushion to the other without touching the floor, or you'll get sucked in.
Think back to your grade-school gym class, and do those moves. Arm circles, jumping jacks, seated stretches, marching in place, etc.
Remember that the kids need the exercise as much as, if not more than you do. So if you can't get out, find ways to move indoors. It's not just about weight loss for you either -- moving regularly is good for your mood and overall health. If you're having a hard time finding motivation to do these things, set a timer for 15 minutes a couple of times a day and get to dancing or whatever. It'll help get you going and keep you going.0
