Sorry to hear about your injury too! I can't do any exercise at the moment but am hoping to choose some races / training programs to start as soon as I am able. I guess what I'm looking for mainly are goals that get me back to where I was before while still giving me goal-posts and targets to hit :)

[quote="goldthistime;31020708If it were me, I would focus on staying happy instead of losing weight. I feel the mood effects of stopping vigorous exercise within a week. Movie dates (comedies if possible), switching my radio from news to a comedy channel, painting, shopping, cleaning those are my things. Give a thought to…

Yeah I think after maybe 3-4 weeks I might be allowed to do upper body exercises sat down and maybe (fingers crossed!) non-impact training! But so far I have my x-ray results but haven't yet had my appointment with the consultant as there is a LONG wait list -.-

OK thank you!
-
OK thank you both :) Maybe I'll just keep to a 100-200 calorie deficit while in the recovery process! Yeah I use a scale for everything and I am 5 ft 5 at about 120ish fluctuating
-
thanks for your input! I did think about this and whether cutting calories would inhibit the healing process - so I'll go over that idea again :)
-
I was just checking - you'd be surprised how many people do say it. I would have thought you'd come across it by now... - OK well thanks for repeating what I wrote in my own post - i'm looking for ways to get around this, not just people retelling it to me. As an athlete I am aware of the amount I'm eating...
-
I realise I am at the moment - due to it been a HUGE change for me to adjust to doing this little activity. Are you saying that's why I'm no longer losing weight?
-
Yeah yeah that's why I said I'm going to the doctor Monday. But was hoping for some people who have had it could give personal experiences
-
Thanks for all the comments! No I'm definitely not saying that I just sit around all day and eat everything I can see haah! But I do find I am hungrier on rest days - probably because my muscles need refuelling after exercise and the deficit is catching up. - Good to hear everyone's perspectives :)
-
exactly! I have those mood swings though I'm wondering if that's because I'm hungry haha
-
Bump! :)
-
hey would love some new friends :) feel free to add
-
makes sense, thank you! :)
-
hi! feel free to add me :) i log in daily and am onto my last 6lbs! (the whole "here we go again" :p) good luck with your goals!
-
haha, i know that feeling! I'd say I'm pretty good on the cheating - I might have a big meal once or twice a month, but I'm usually under my goal for the whole week still, even if go 600 over or whatever... frustrating haha but we'll get there ^^
-
hmm, exactly. I mean, I'm eating like, 1700-2200, but when I exercise a lot, the net goes down obviously. But of course (like most people) I'm worried if I start eating more, the weight will come back on. My net goal is generally 1350...my BMR (without exercise) is around 1600-1700...
-
my workouts are pretty varied between weights, running (different runs/speeds/distances) as well as tennis, yoga and walking...i am hungry quite a lot, though not if i eat a lot of protein (like yogurt). I have lost inches to be fair...maybe I'm just been really impatient :p I'm just worried that to lose the next 5 lbs I'm…
-
less than a 1lb a week...probably no more than 0.5lb a week. Which seems to be low for a net of 900-1200 calories....but maybe that's how low it needs to be for the final 5lb
-
thanks all for your input so quickly - kind of what i figured too! So you think i should begin to up calories slowly? or keep at same until i hit the goal and then go back up?
-
i'm 19 and in my last 10 lbs so feel free to add me! and good luck :))
-
Hey! I'm a student too, in my last 10-12 lbs (taken me 2 years after re-gaining weight haha) I know what you mean about budget, socialising etc and fitting it all around uni work so feel free to add me. I log in daily and try to be as helpful/supportive as possible!
-
nobodyyy?
-
what happens if you use this method but instead of the amount of calories you ate, you use the NET calories you ate...is that TDEE accurate as a net goal or not?
-
would love more friends! I log daily and am a university student so know the stressed feeling!! have added you :)
-
you sound EXACTLY like me hahah - that's what my binges can get up to!! i'm going to try 2 weeks though, sticking within my 1450 calories and see how that goes :)
-
Thank you all guys!! I don't usually cut a whole food out but i do eat less of it....last night was extremely bad but going to get back to it today, and hopefully lose on Sunday!
-
yeah, I'll try 1500 (and stick in it!!) and weight at end of the week and see :) haha, I've gone over a few more times this week (including tonight!!) but just feel like i need to :L
-
OK, thanks :) what would you up to?? 1450 doesn't seem such a big difference? I'm worried 1500 will stop me losing but i could try it i guess...?
-
looking at my diary you could be right!! I have a secondary amenorrhea so i often forget - thank you :)
