Hey everyone, so I was wondering if there are any other students here?
I know that I struggle with a range of things when trying to lose weight while at university and want some new friends maybe in the same situation.
I firstly struggle with living on a tight budget.
Secondly, living in a house full of people who can eat anything they want and manage to not gain weight like me.
Does anybody struggle with this? or have any advice?
Feel free to add me for a chat. x

Hey! I'm a student too, in my last 10-12 lbs (taken me 2 years after re-gaining weight haha)
I know what you mean about budget, socialising etc and fitting it all around uni work so feel free to add me. I log in daily and try to be as helpful/supportive as possible!0 -
I'm not a student at the moment, but I do live on a very tight budget. It can be really hard to do. Keep in mind that foods that are better for you tend to cost less! Its cheaper to buy produce and things located around the perimeter of a store to make homemade meals than it is to buy freezer meals or all they yummy junk food! More effort to cook and plan, but healthier for you and over all cheaper too.0

This is a really good point! I was a student for 4 years and now living on a very tight budget! Avoid the aisles!
I drink herbal tea nowadays or eat a handful of grapes or almonds so I can feel included on the binging when everyone around me's eating nachos.0 -
Student here too! I'm boarding though and once I had the epiphany that my life and choices here are 80% more mine than they had been at home choosing to surround myself with healthy food was easier.
And for roomates who order pizza twice a day - tell them what you're trying to do as long as you think they'll be cool about it. It'll make the environment easier to handle. If you aren't completely sure they wont be jerks, don't. And you're allowed to get frustrated over golden metabolisms - but remember even if their metabolisms were average, it wouldn't change anything about your own body. Gotta work with the short straws.
Homemade meals aren't easy and vegetables spoil a heck of a lot faster than ramen, but you do have more control over what you put in and once you know what you're doing it's so worth the time. If you cant cook just work with what your cafeteria can give you and get some celery ( i am actually not certain how long it takes to spoil because i have yet to not finish a whole bag)
I second the tea.0 -
Student here! I'm pretty new on this journey so I don't have a ton of tips but I'd love a few friends. I'll send you an invite. Anyone else, feel free to add me!0

I just graduated. It can be very difficult to find time to do things like working out when you have deadlines and projects and papers hanging over your head. Most universities have at least attempted to make healthy food available in their cafeterias. Good luck!0
