  • Throw some chicken into a crockpot with a container of black beans (drained), salsa, garlic, cumin and jalapenos (if you like more heat). Makes amazing shredded chicken for tacos.
  • Get on therpf.com. I think there is even someone currently working on the same costume. I believe they are using a Captain America helmet as a base. Good luck
  • Congrats on your wins MissMissle! We've had two shows so far this year (we show the AMHR circuit aka Miniature horses), mostly driving but some halter and oddball classes like liberty and versatility. Both shows went really well so far considering 5 out of 7 of the horses on our show string are newbies (so dealing with…
  • My old pony loved pears as well! We had an old Arab gelding who loved fresh strawberries too. We have several minis that won't eat fruit or veggies when offered as treats, but our minis pretty much all go nuts for Calf-Manna bite sized nuggets (all the flavors).
  • I'm not a jumping/dressage person, but it sounds like you are approaching the point where you are outgrowing your couch. If you love this mare and are wanting to see just how far you can go together, you need to be with a couch who will encourage the most growth and help you get the most out of your horse and yourself. Go…
  • I live in SW Michigan and we paid an average of $5 a bale for good quality alfalfa mix this year. Hopefully this summer will be a little kinder than the last two and the farmers won't lose as many cuttings.
  • I love to cook up some cut broccoli, onions and zuchinni in a skillet with a little balsalmic and light soy sauce (a little goes a long way with both of them). Or I like to use a little soy and sesame seeds to marinade the same veggies and grill them.
  • I did time it and I am still very slow. It took me 14 minutes, but I think I'll work on my endurance more before I worry about faster times. And after a quick minute walk I was able to keep going running again!
  • Congrats! :drinker:
  • I'd say that if you wanted a video game system for working out, I'd get an XBox Kinect. We have a Wii and an Xbox and I prefer NOT to use the Wii. You don't really get a workout from the Wii Fit games and I prefer to use my digital scale over the one from the game. To change up my regular workout, I like to do the Xbox…
  • I have a specific time at night that is my "no eating after" mark. If I start getting the munchies or start wanting to pick at food out of boredom, I usually grab something to drink instead. Water or tea (hot or cold) usually since part of the point for me is to not needlessly consume extra calories. I find that by sipping…

  • LOL, the first time I lost a lot of weight I was so thrilled to see my collar bones. Now I'm back on the diet bandwagon and I just remarked to my sister the other day that I couldn't wait until they were visible again!
  • I'm from the US as well; Buchanan, Michigan, which is in the SW corner just outside the Indiana border. We are known as Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation, and also home to the Redbud MX motorcross track. We are breeders/trainers/exhibitors of american shetland ponies and american miniature horses. We primiarly do…
  • Lena foaled!!!!!!! She went around 9:30 pm and had a gorgeous bay tobiano colt. His name is still up in the air, but he has already passed stool and nursed, and momma passed the complete placenta. Both seem to be doing fine now. Lena had some trouble with him as she was very tight, but we managed to help pull him and while…
  • No babies yet. Lena (she's the mare in my weight-ticker pict) is forming wax plugs and has a decent udder started so only a few more weeks. I think she will go about the 12th but since this is baby #1 for her, not sure when she will decide it's time. Mimi's attitude is changing and she's looking close as well, but since…
  • I'm on Day 3 Level 1 today  I did two days and then took yesterday off (what a difference that makes! No sore muscles today!). I think I'm going to try and take on level 2 in a couple of days, because apparently I'm not enough of a masochist  Good luck everyone!
  • I log as I go.
  • Personally, I don't think anyone sane likes natto. ;) I would probably do an Amazon search and look at the reviews to see what books they suggest.
  • We try to be as close to a vet in knowlege as possible since it is too far a drive for our vet in case of a true emergency. We have to troubleshoot as much as possible. We don't use many vocal commands in driving. We work almost entirely off of rein and/or whip cues as well as small clucks or kisses. Judges don't like loud…
  • Minis can have quite a few problems, especially the smaller ones (distocia can happen due to pelvic insufficeniecy). We take turns staying up over night to keep an eye on them and go out immediately when they begin labor. We do help the foaling as well so we can make sure they are coming out okay and to get the bag broken…
  • Don't ride anymore but I very rarely ever used a helmet. I used one when I first started gaming (about age 5) but only used it for showing, not at home. I swtiched over to pleasure horses after that and never used a helmet at home (and I broke most of my horses out myself). I used a helmet for english classes but primarly…
  • Definately peanut butter and blueberries
  • I haven't ridden for years, but having grown up with horses I've come off horses from all angles at one point of another. I had a near miss at a show once that I am still heckled for. I was hurrying to get from the barn to the show ring for an english class, so mounted up and trotted out of the barn. Only I wasn't paying…
  • Can't do much with the ponies this time of year with all the snow, but summer is always busy that's for sure! This year we have 6 young ones getting started in cart and 4 that just need finishing before show season starts. And we are starting to get into breeding season pretty soon here as well. You can see why I don't…
  • Poor Harry, his life just gets more and more screwed.
  • Hi everyone! My family breeds and shows miniature horses and shetland ponies. Right now we have 21 with three babies due between the end of Feb. and the end of April. We are mostly into driving but dabble in halter, jumping/hunter in hand, trail in hand, and liberty as well. Here are our horses barn names: ~Ferris (filly)…
  • Totally into anime and manga (second addiction only to my horses). I'm not genre specific either, I've watched just about everything out there, but am always open to suggestions on new stuff out there as well. Anyone can feel free to friend me. BTW- DarthGibbles8, I loved Sword Art (I was a little more into Aincrad than…
  • You can add me if you would like. I just got hooked up with MFP yesterday and hoping it will help me get back on the wagon. When I started out about 3 years ago I was at 301 lbs (I'm 22 now), I lost 115 lbs and kept it off for almost a year before some really bad stuff happened in my life and I ended up gaining back over…
