  • Feels like another cash grab to me. You used to be able to scan labels for food. Now, you have to pay for premium for it. I refuse to reward a company for its greed, so I refuse to pay for premium.

  • That may be it. I did go out for mexican food one night, but usually it doesn't throw me off this back. Also, it's been in the 90s here lately. Perhaps that has a lot to do with it too. I will just keep better track of my sodium and try to drink more water now. Thanks for the advice everyone!
  • From my own personal experience, less to no fruit (especially bananas which are super high carb for a fruit, stick to citrus if you absolutely crave fruit) and no tomatos and more leafy greens. That was enough for me to get another 10 lbs off. Then, losing the last 10 pounds is where it starts to seem impossible. Best of…
  • Thanks so much for sharing your experience! That's good to hear. I find the scale doesn't move much at all anymore either so I'll be focusing more on the inches.
  • Just dive in! I've been Paleo for almost 9 months and I still learn something everyday! You will get addicted to learning new things. It's definitely about the journey and not the destination. but it's the best decision I ever made in my life. I feel a million times better. Good luck. :)
  • YES. It definitely can. There have been more than one study linking fructose to weight gain. Yet, another example of how all calories are NOT created equal. Fruit is very nutritious, but not for people who want to lose weight. Save the fruit for when you go into maintanence mode. Eat vegetables. They are MORE dense in…
  • I'm not putting your choices down, I'm truly trying to be helpful. Where is your meat? As a used-to-be-vegan I can tell you that if you don't get enough protein you will get fat/not lose. Your diary seems to be full of a lot of high carb grain-based foods. There is exactly where your problem lies. Some of the foods you're…
  • I would be willing to bet if people paid more attention to their macronutrients and vitamin intake rather than obsessing over this calories in/calories out BS, half of these threads would never have existed in the first place. Most people think they are eating healthy diets, but rarely even check the ingredients of the…
  • Kelp noodles. Call around to your health food stores. They are crunchy but when mixed directly in with the sauce you are cooking they become soft like noodles and are full of nutrients inclusing natural iodine, a mineral often too overlooked. All those "low-carb" pastas are crap and not good for you either. Spaghetti…
  • Thanks everyone!! :-D
  • Thank you so much!! I still have some fat, but I only started losing the stomach fat after I started sleeping more (more than 6 hours a night) and started watching my carbs (under 50g/day) :)
  • I am not going to get into why cutting out meat is a bad bad BAD idea, but it certainly is. Especially, since you are probably overdosing on carbs. Watch your carb intake (not more than 100g/day) and strive to get them from fruits and veggies and not complex carb rich foods like grains (yes, this includes whole wheat)…
  • and update on the inches...some areas I've increased inches :( and total loss is only 2 inches if I stretch it. I dont understand :(
  • Problem is my clothes don't feel any better. They feel the same :(
  • Yes I do use a heart monitor and I make sure to eat all of my exercise calories back. I got a gym pass and swam one day instead of running. I also started 30DS but was so sore afterwards I couldnt do it the next 3 days because I was doing good to barely walk. I run a lot because I enjoy it and it's a great stres reliever…
  • I also forgot to add that I even started watching my sodium and increased my potassium. So even though there is some water weight still I'm certain I know that my failure cannot be even half due to water retention.
  • I feel the same way. Being on anything that is technically a "diet plan" like WW or Atkins, just make me feel restricted simply because someone else is limiting me. It's purely a psychological thing, but maintaining my own fitness on here doesn't make me feel that way. Plus, it's a lifestyle, not a "diet" and I don't know…
  • I wish I would have known a long time ago that I take in too much sodium as well as have a pretty awful time with water retention. Should have started watching the sodium years ago even when I wasn't counting calories. I also wish I would have known that it's normal to gain weight in the first 2 weeks of dieting instead of…
  • I'm there with ya! I'm a 36-B And the only woman in my entire family to have less than D cups. I hear my mom and sister complain about their backs and how they are in the way all the time. I wish I had maybe a cup size bigger, but I'm glad to not have the issues that some women seem to get with larger ones. And you're…
  • If you eat a lot of processed foods, (cereals, lean cuisines, special K bars, soups, even canned vegetables) that could be where a lot of your sodium is coming from. I figured this out recently too, since sodium wasn't something I was too concerned with starting out until I realized that I'd been working really hard and…
  • From what others have said as well, It seems that if you go too much over your alotted amount on sodium that your body will retain more water weight and can cause you to feel bloated and can even make your weight go up on the scale. I wasn't happy to learn of this being a salt lover myself.
  • Thanks! These were all very encouraging. I guess if nothing else I'm getting better nutrition and my heart is happier.

  • Good for you!! 30 day shred is great! Props for being able to do it, It's a bit strenuous. :)
  • I'm actually not as thin as I was in my picture. I've gained about 30 pounds since that pic was take about 2.5 years ago. I keep it up as a motivator. So, when I log in I'm reminded how I want to look again. But you're right... I definitely wasnt worried about losing weight back then. lol. I'm just trying to get back to…
  • Thanks a lot! That helps. I knew I couldnt be the ONLY person on here that had figured out that it didn't add up. lol. I think I might up my net to my BMR level just to be on the safe side. Thanks again!
