  • funny you should say that. I have been "borderline" on my thyroid, but I know there is at least one expert out there that says not everyone's normal is normal. I think it really is my thyroid, so would be interested in also hearing from anyone who has gone down the road of trying to fix a thyroid when the standard test say…
  • Glad you started this thread. I am one of the "smallest losers" constantly in need of encouragement. Whether due to hormones, prior starvation, or just plain bum luck I only lose 2 pounds per month maximum. It is very hard to stay encouraged when we all know a 2 pound fluctuation is possible from morning to night. The key…
  • yes, it is awesome for walking. I am not a runner (knees), and I find that this program really motivates me to get out there and walk. I like being able to look at the calendar view and see how many times a week I've walked, etc. The one thing I have noticed is that the calories burned do not line up with what calculates…
  • please read this.... it changed my whole outlook on dieting, and made me realize I had starved myself into fatness. When I started MFP, I initially gained 3-4 pounds. I only lose about 1/3 pound per week, and for some of us that is just the way it is. Especially after growing obese on less than 1000 per day. Just stick…
  • i love these: Target Weight by Tactio Walkmeter by Abvio (have also used for kyaking)
  • Yes, but for those of us losing 10th of a pound, it can be a bit more fustrating. 20 pounds took me 1 year to lose.
  • 2/10 of a pound is a bit more frustrating.
  • Some of us just lose MUCH more slowly than others. I am on week 7, and thank god I have a scale that weighs in increments of a tenth of a pound. I have now lost 6/10 of a pound. I am at a net of 1200 calorie per day and I walk four times a week. If you have not read the article called "obesity at 700 calories a day" you…
  • i like the old ones, and I do them too. iuse the body sculpting videos with the fanny lifter. How do you log them on MFP? I don't find a way to do that. All I've been able to do is call it cardio, and then use the calorie count for strength training. that does not seem very accurate.
  • nope, no inches. Tried on a skirt that I wore a month ago and could not get it zipped.
  • Thanks, and yes very good article. I was so glad to hear that I was not just losing my mind. I recall feeling exactly the same way when I found out at age 30 that I had high cholesterol. the doctor gave me a list of foods not to eat (none of which I eat), and as list of foods to eat (all of which I do). it was not until…
  • Thanks! I am going to add some strength training. I'm not sure if I'm losing inches, but I feel better. I've never been able to get an accurate measurement of myself.
