The scale doesn't seem to think that what you're doing is a problem, so keep it up :)

chicken potatoes carrots turnip greens / whatever's cheap dry beans canned tomatoes egg noodles sliced turkey... My pantry faves are usually at one extreme or the other when it comes to effort and nutrition. Baking powder and yeast sit next to obligatory college staples like spaghettios (and yes, ramen). I have the food…

Try to figure out if it's food in general or if there's certain things that suck more than others. I used to be in the same boat until I found out it was sugary stuff that I couldn't eat. My breakfasts almost all look like they belong on a lunch menu but in ways that's almost better since I have a lot of late lunches.…

I used to do night shift too, so I know how that goes. If having your daily food split across two different "diary days" bugs you, try changing your time zone to somewhere halfway across the world and use as normal remembering that am and pm are now flipped on the site.

When I started dieting, I learned quickly that planning more than a week in advance doesn't pay if you intend to visit the produce section much. Go ahead and shop off the sale sheet - it's easier on the budget and encourages you to eat new veggies. If you haven't worked much with some things before or the sale sheet has…

Depending on how picky your taste buds are nothing will be a decent substitute. If that turns out to be the case, go ahead and have some sugar... just don't let it take over your calorie budget to the point of crowding out other things you need.

I'd give 'em a day, maybe two at the most.

Fake sugar doesn't even taste like food to me... is there something my body knows that the doctors are trying not to figure out?

As a former RN, your mom knows better than most people how important it is to eat healthy. Over the course of her career she likely saw patients that ate their way into the operating room. She may not be happy to hear you say no to her cooking, but do it anyway. Your son needs you.

The oriental food store in my town has some. They're really good if you're a fan of Japanese cooking but don't think about drowning them in spaghetti sauce, etc.

Greasy fair/festival foods. I walk/bike to those so I'm not sure they count as a true cheat.

Did the google thing too. Think Atkins, gone off the deep end.

I'm 5'3 with a large frame. My goal weight is 125... I currently weigh 211 so I have a long way to go.

Weighing it after is ideal, but it's not practical if you've added the meat to something.

Saturday's entry didn't look too bad, to be honest. You stayed under your calorie goal and ate a couple salads. I personally would've picked a different leafy green for the salads and used less salad dressing, but otherwise it looked okay.

Low calorie tv dinners and zero prep fruits and veggies are good for fighting the urge to nom down whatever is within reach and ready to eat. I'm a big fan of dipping handfuls of leafy greens in regular fat dressing (measure it or else!) and stuff like that.

It's only one day, and it's only 171 calories. You're beating yourself up way too much for this.

This week has been testing my will to keep dieting. I found two things that my body throws a fit over and they're both vegetables. I had a grad party and a college registration day to attend. As if that wasn't enough BS, I gained back four pounds and then lost them again (hope it's all water weight). I'm going to think of…

Neither are chocolate and a lot of teas :grumble: I drank coffee and energy drinks on occasion until I became sensitive to caffeine in '08, shortly after I went on the pill. Quitting was pretty useless for weight loss but it dropped my blood pressure down to normal.

Soy milk from Aldi. There's some fat in it but the calories are roughly the same as skim milk.

set (too short to spike)!

Sugars affect each person's weight loss differently. Some people find that they need to cut back to half a banana no matter how many other good things they're doing. Others can sprinkle sugar on their Total cereal and still lose but need to watch something else if they want their body to let go of weight more easily. I'm a…

I log raw meat because it's easier to take the grocery store's word that it's a one pound chub of ground beef than it is to scoop the little bits of meat out of a soup to weigh :)

Mine is a balance of good stuff and rubbish, but go ahead. Edit: don't try to make sense of the "meals" - it's really just a list of what I've eaten.

My roommates are my parents (broke college kid out for the summer) and it's been interesting. Dad is on the skinnier side but struggles to keep the beer belly at bay. For the most part he succeeds. Mom is at 275 and makes halfhearted attempts to lessen the problem. Halfhearted doesn't work too well for her because she has…

Beef sukiyaki.

I would like to see them do a recipe for beef sukiyaki or something else that calls for shirataki noodles outside of HG Land.
