  • I have found that so long as you are truely keeping to your intake goals, then the weight will come off. It is discouraging and deflating when you've been good all week, exercised and then the weekly weigh in shows either an increase or little to no movement. To combat this I am now only weighing in monthly, which I find…
  • Hi all - just landed back here after a few months away and my friends have all gone away too!! :D Happy for friend requests for mutual support on our journeys, therefore anyone feel free to add me.
  • Afternoon @superjohn71 - nice set of Park Tools btw! Good luck with this, feel free to add me to your friends list if you want some support and encouragement. Happy to always receive new friend requests! All the best
  • To add friends, click on their name within the thread, then click on their name again when the mini profile appears and then add friend. It will ask you to put in your name and a message so that the person you are wanting to be friends with knows who you are, why etc. Also happy for anyone to add me - back on here after…
  • Hi all. Not been using MFP for a while and want to get back on the weight loss and fitness journey, which MFP friends supported so well a few years back. With most of those friends now gone I'm looking for a new crowd to support - therefore please feel free to add away! :)
  • Morning _mr_b! I used Zwift last year with a non-smart turbo and it was ok. I have since bought a smart trainer and find it much better, before i know it 60 minutes have flown by!! This is in addition to the training plans that are available and the scheduled races and/or social rides which are also entertaining. Just my…
  • Evening Chris - I found you on Strava and just followed. Here in the UK too - feel free to follow back etc! Have fun out there!

  • Although it's great to see the amazing change in peoples physique, what I notice more than anything is look at their faces. In virtually every case on the 'after' photo's they're all smiling!! Physical and mental changes are very powerful - awesome job to everyone who has posted so far
  • From wonderful Shropshire here - happy to accept any UK friend requests, have a number of US friends but would love to have more UK buddies that post at similar times as I do. :)
  • From the UK, happy for anyone to add me too. Been on MFP for a while (on and off TBH but still here) Looking for more UK based peoples! :)
  • One of the best posts I've seen in a long time. Love the attitude of 'because I can...' Well done and keep going!
  • Done - looking for more UK based friends too!
  • Sunny Shropshire here guys - anyone from the UK feel free to add me on their friends list. Find it much better to be helping and supporting when in the same time zone! :)
  • Well done, top effort!
  • From Shropshire here guys, always welcoming new friends and would like more from the UK. Feel free to add away!
  • Yep Strava now links to MFP, just go to Strava and select the link to MFP, job done!
  • Strava free is my personal fav and it now links to MFP - bonus! The reason I went for Strava is mainly becuase of my competive nature and the segments that it holds to try and beat yours, and others, previous times on sections of your route. Personal choice at the end of the day and whatever you choose - have fun!
  • Some remarkable transformations and everyone who posts have the same thing in common - they're smiling lots in the 'after' pics! Just goes to show that all that hard work and effort, no matter how hard it CAN be at times, is well worth it. Well done all - good work!
  • Hi to all UK based peoples out there, I'm in Shropshire and would love to have more UK based friends on here. Love my cycling and am on here daily, so please feel free to drop me a friend request - look forward to working with you! Have a great weekend

  • All good recomendations so far and it comes down to personal preference - Strava is another alternative and my personal favourite. Good luck with whichever you choose.
  • Great to see so many getting into road cycling, once you have started you won't go back to mountain or hybrid bikes I can assure you! I've been on my road bike for about 4 years and it takes some time to get used to the bike and how best to ride it - cornering, gearing, pedal stroke, seated, standing in additon to getting…
  • UK based in (not so) sunny Shropshire! Looking for more UK based friends if anyone wants to add me feel free
  • Hey all, cyclist from the UK here and I too have felt them bruises when moving to SPD's - it will certainly become second nature after a while and you'll feel the benefit. I love cycling and love my road bike - anyone please feel free to add me to friends list, looking for likeminded peoples too!
  • Ditto both the above, turbo or rollers defo the way to go. Got mine in Oct last year and done almost a thousand miles to date, although in UK it only cost me £120 which is approx $200 - as we brits would say - quids in $$$ Good luck and enjoy.
  • Proud Salopian (Shropshire) here, there are plenty of us folk around isn't there! Good luck to all
  • Hey there, just logged back into MFP after a few months away (meaning a few pounds added too) and looking for new friends to help me keep on track. I'll send a request kb01 and anyone else out there who are like minded who want to add me, then please also feel free :) Looking forward to the day, weeks and months ahead!
  • I don't think there is such a thing as a 'normal' heart rate as everyone is built differently and their heart rates will vary. The most realistic way of establishing your resting heart rate and maximum rate is by investing in a heart rate monitor and completing some tests to establish the resting and max which then gives…
  • I've got the Polar RS100 and it's great, does exactly what you are after, although any Polar HRM will. Depends on budget and what 'extra' bit and bobs you're after (whether you want it to upload to PC etc) but generally £60 will get you what you are after. The other option is also a Bluetooth Polar Strap that transmits to…
  • I have the RS100 and yes it does give you your average HR for the completed session. Also cals used and % of those that were in fat burning zone. It also has lap function so you can break those sessions up - which is good.
  • Firstly, I have found a HRM to be one of the very best investments I have made, and I mean investment - it's an invstment into my future health and well-being and without it I coudl only guess, or use MFP calorie calculations which are at best a wee bit out! The HRM also allows me to train in the 'right' zone, instead of…
