Can any recommend an offline GPS tracker app?

I have an Iphone and have recently got into jogging. I'm looking for an app that can record the distance I run, if it can record my speed as well that's a bonus. I'm living abroad right now so unfortuneatly my mobile data is switched off at all times and as i'm jogging I can't connect to any wifi networks.

I've just gotten to the point where I've broken through the wall and can actually run for a respectable amount of time without stop so i'm excited to track my progess! Thanks guys xxx

Endomondo - it records all your activity etc and links straight into MFP for the calorie expenditure.

Runkeeper and Endomondo both operate without a mobile signal as long as you can connect to WiFi, or via a computer, after the session to upload to their services.

Alternatives would be Runtastic or MapMyFitness, although personally I'm not a fan of either of those.

All good recomendations so far and it comes down to personal preference - Strava is another alternative and my personal favourite. Good luck with whichever you choose.

Honestly...if you are considering continuing on with running, perhaps it is time to invest in a GPS watch. You won't have to worry about data usage then, and most of the GPS watches now hook up to programs that tap straight into MFP.
  • Thanks for the recommendations guys. I downloaded RunKeeper and love it. Thanks!
