  • Congrats on your success!!!! Were you at or below goal when you switched to maintenance and how long did you wait before you made the switch? I'm afraid to stay in maintenance because it's too hard to lose the pounds at this stage of the gain (at my age)!!! I'm going to try to lose a few more pounds to have as a buffer…
  • The hardest parts will be the Seders....I anticipate that I'll have a little weight gain by Wed. morning but I hope to get back on track then. My goal will be not to be frustrated by any gains! Bottom line is I love this holiday and I love spending it with my family! Hag Sameach to all!

  • Thanks all...I've figured it out! The calorie goals don't change until one actually reaches their goal and then clicks on "maintain". I can't wait til that!!
  • Oh well! My post has sparked a discussion on b.m.! I'm sure that my metabolism is slowing down (I'm 56 yrs old) and I'm trying to do all that I can to boost it as well as my bowel habits....drinking lots of water and trying to eat high fiber foods!
  • Well......my bowel habits have changed a lot lately so perhaps my metabolism does need a boost! I actually gained about a half a pound this week and that is very frustrating! I've been splitting up my workout routine to try to boost my metabolism. I"ll try to eat more now (not the worst problem....huh?!?!?!!?) Now the…
  • I've successfully broken the habit of weighing in every morning! For the past 3 weeks I've held out until Friday mornings and I'm much happier! No more frustrations over daily slight losses or gains of a few ounces! Last week I was a bit frustrated over my weekly progress but my diligence paid off and yesterday I weighed…
  • The beauty of exercise (especially cardio) is that it "gives" you more calories to eat! You definitely have to make sure that you don't go far below the 1200 level so that your body doesn't go into "starvation mode". When I eat something that I shouldn't I hit the treadmill again to counteract the damage! GOOD LUCK!
  • I had to break my habit of weighing in every morning because it was becoming too frustrating! Now I wait until Friday morning. This week I was perfect...exercising every day and resisting all temptation (even today's Dessert Buffet at my school!) I dropped .8 lbs this week......I'm determined to be steadfast!!
  • To dzdame- CONGRATS on your wonderful success so far! That is great!!! We do have a lot in common! I live on the east coast and HATE the winter and I know that I have a mild case of S.A.D. too! The only thing positive thing about winter is that I'm a teacher and I do enjoy snow days!! Thanks for your encouragement! I wish…
  • To "flipipino"- Thanks so much for your reply! I'm not new to exercise- I'm just returning after a few months of being super lazy! I don't know how long I'll be able to keep up my 2x/day workout regimen but we'll see! On workdays I only can manage to get in a couple of short treadmill sessions and I"m splitting it up as…
  • Thank you all for some really good ideas! Leesa- I've had Vitasandwiches (breakfast) and we love them! Will have to try the "tops" soon!
  • You certainly have a lot of reasons to be stressed but I hope you keep on track doing the right thing! I know how frustrating it can be but keep at it! I've been just about "perfect" on my dieting the past 3 weeks and I've increased my exercising a lot but I've only lost about 2 1/2 lbs and I"m frustrated! Keep at it! You…
  • Thanks! You have great ideas! My problem is that I'm a full time teacher and if i don't exercise first thing in the a.m. I only have the energy to hit my treadmill right after school. Throughout the day I'm constantly on my feet, walking a lot through my school but there isn't much time for real exercise throughout the…
  • Good luck to you! I can tell you that having to log food in has been a huge motivator for me! I've been pretty close to perfect with only a few bad moments the past 2 weeks! One of my biggest problems is that I get on the scale every morning and then get frustrated with the small gains that I see in spite of my dedication…
