Please make sure to steer clear of political discussion in the thread, as it is against the forum rules - mostly as a result of how such hot topics can go sour quickly. Thanks for your understanding. Nigel MFP Moderating Team

That is pretty much what I do. I have several large bottles and rotate them over a couple of weeks, so there isn't the waste you would get from a 16 oz bottle one use plan. I have bought a few re-usable water bottles, and have never really liked any of them all that much. I'm pretty happy with my large bottles used for a…

At many of these restaurants, there are plenty of reasonable calorie meals you can eat. It is the massive amounts of sodium that will probably do the most damage, even on seemingly good choices otherwise. Sometimes the salad will have nearly an entire day's worth of sodium in the dish. I don't worry all that much about…

I'm a big snack fan. I'll eat off and on throughout the day, and still have my 3 regular meals. Worked fine for me when I was losing weight, and works fine for me in maintenance mode.

Great work! Congrats! Keep it up.

I own a 360, but I have played the Wii with family as well. I definitely prefer the 360, and the controller-free Kinect is preferable for us as well. Dance Central for Kinect is a blast!

Doesn't it feel good? Congrats on your success! I recently wore my jeans that I had been wearing before I lost my 26 pounds (when I needed to do laundry and clean my newer pants), and later realized that I can't wear these any more - even with a belt. They looked terrible and loose! Felt good to know I was leaner and…

I edited a few posts to eliminate the early comment that wasn't pertinent to the thread. Carry on!

I've worn my HRM for a number of activities. Couple of interest... Lawn mowing/weed eating/yard work - 90 minutes / 900 calories Drumming - 60 minutes / 350 calories

Over 40 and got into kayaking last summer on a family vacation. I took a couple of beginner classes, and really love it so far. I'm looking forward to going out for some kayaking this summer.

I would say that there are a couple of reasons I have maintained successfully: 1) Continued regular exercise 2) Portions - I ate fairly well before, but ate oversized portions, and didn't watch my sodium intake at all. Now I keep an eye on both. 3) Drinking - I switched to water back in January, and eliminated the 4-5…

Making my diary public or not has no effect on what I eat. My diary is open to friends, and that is mostly so they can see what I'm doing, take away ideas, or just note what I'm eating, etc. I lost weight (and now maintain) for myself, not for other people, so the only person I need to be accountable to is me. I've never…

I have a couple of things that I have eaten every day, save for a couple of rare days here and there in the last four months or so... Almonds Baby carrots

I was never a yogurt person before, but I'm eating a lot of it now. For regular yogurt, I've become attached to the Danon Light & Fit yogurts. Lots of different flavors that are pretty good. Since I'm in maintenance mode, I'm looking to add calories more than cut them, so I usually mix in a half cup of cereal with the…

With the cardio boxing in Kinect, you have to unlock each level, one at a time. Once you do the beginner one, the next one is available. Do the second one, then you will unlock the third, and so on. The upper levels have you doing the same moves as the early levels, but much faster. I love the cardio boxing, but the…

I reached maintenance mode around 3 weeks ago, and I know exactly what you are talking about. My daily goal is nearly 2400 cals, so if I work out (still doing P90, and I've been runing two months now), I'm usually adding at least another 400-600 calories on top of that. I already eat nuts, fruit, and everything else, but I…

I have Your Shape, Dance Central, Sports, and Adventures. I used Your Shape several times a week as my only workout when I started losing weight and getting in shape. I haven't used it as much the last two months, but that is because I've been doing P90, and started running. I've been using Your Shape as an occasional…

Love playing video games. Haven't had as much free time to play them as I did before I started working out and losing weight, but I really enjoy playing online and offline. I used to be a pretty hardcore PC gamer, but mostly play on the Xbox 360 now. My gf is a big gamer, too, so she is more than happy to dash off to the…

I'm a huge ice cream fan. There is no "one or two cartons" in the freezer. We have an extra freezer, so when ice cream is on sale, we have bought it. I've had 12-15 different flavors handy at any one time. I wasn't massively overweight, but I definitely ate more than one serving at a time (those serving sizes are tiny!). I…

Met my gf of 11 years (next week) online - not through a dating site, but on the old Napster mp3 forums. Finding someone online really isn't all that different from doing it in the real world. You just have to be patient, keep a good attitude, and you'll find someone eventually.

There isn't a specific type of body I've ever looked for in a woman. We all have preferences in certain aspects, but I have never dated strictly to those preferences or likes. It is much more about the person inside. I've dated large women, thin women, tall women, short women, and plenty of smart women (I really like the…

I want to move into that house. There has to be a weapons cache in there somewhere, too. Maybe a built-in turret or two?

Woo-hoo! The Lightning complete the series rally from down 3 games to 1 to dump the Penguins from the playoffs! Glad to see the Bolts move on in the playoffs.

I just started running back in February, and just finished Runner's World's 8-week Beginner Training program: http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-520--9397-1-1X5-2,00.html I had not done much running at all (though I was close to my goal weight), but I had very few problems in building up to running 30…

It happens to a lot of people, so you aren't alone in feeling like this. You've started along the right path, so keep going, and give it your best. Sounds like your boyfriend is supportive, and that counts for a lot. Don't let the little things bother you at the gym (not always easy, I know), and just focus on doing what…

Welcome back to MFP, and feel free to add me as a friend. I'm not a die-hard runner, but I'm finishing up the Runners World beginning runner program, and hope to run my first 5K in June sometime. Then there is that "Run For Your Lives" 5K where you run from zombies in October. I won't bore you with being right all the…

Hi, and welcome to MFP! This site really is helpful, and is filled with good information, support and motivation. I didn't track sodium for the first week of my stay at MFP, and when I started to track it, i was really surprised at how much sodium I was taking in every day. I got it under control pretty quickly, but it is…

I started running about a month into doing P90, and it has been a challenge to try to do both. I try not to do both in one day, but at least one day a week I end up doing both (rarely back-to-back, however). Sometimes I will substitute my running for the cardio day of P90, since I'm still getting a cardio workout in, and…

Wish I could bike to work. It is 15 miles of mostly country roads (so too far to do regularly), but cars regularly drive 60+ along much of the road, and there isn't enough room on the side. I would probably be hit and/or killed if I did it for very long. On the plus side, we really don't go anywhere except to work these…
