I am training for a big race. I bike, swim and ride 6 days a week. I shave my legs once a week as well. Ladies, you know that reaction men give you when you catch them checking out your breasts? I caught a lady checking out my legs. I know she was checking them out cause she gave me that same reaction that men give ladies.…

I do this with people all the time. I'm really proud of my friends and of all of their accomplishments. Most of my friends would never say a thing about how awesome they are as people or athletes so I say it for them. My friend how is a 3:15 marathoner, I always let runners know that she is damn fast. When I get introduced…

I finally have a good one to post. I can now wear the YMCA provided towel while walking back from the shower without holding onto it. I used to have to grip it cause it wasn't long enough to overlap and tuck in. Now I have two hands free!

Park further away is the easiest start. The hardest part of any exercise or race is starting. The first mile in any race is the same length for everyone. It's the roads that get you to the starting line that can take longer. Until you really want this, nothing will work though. That's how it was for me and a lot of other…

I tried to eat Salads at Subway, but they always taste like a sub. I love eating there for breakfast, but that's actually the only meal I eat there. I've never tried a Chipotle salad, I've always done the burrito bowls and ate them for two meals. I looked this up, mmmm. I will have to try this one.

Congrats on finishing. While your strategy of not running a lot is certainly not the best plan, you stuck with it and finished.

Awesome job. Keep up the good work. I wish you well on getting those last few pounds. I see you are from London, ON. I have family up there (I'm in Virginia). We visited up there over the summer, it's such a nice area.

Some people don't know how to end conversations. I used to work with someone like this. They never saw the end of a conversation, you have to be very clear it was over for them to get the hint. So, it could be that you didn't end the conversation in such a way to signal it was over, or that he didn't figure out that it was…

I have a fitbit and I've tried to get 15k steps a day since last week (about when Aug started). They say 10k steps walking is about 4 miles, so that makes it about 6 miles. If I keep it up, and some days it's hard to hit, that would be ~180 mile walking/running this month. I find walking fun. I usually listen to a podcast…

I thought I would add to my list what I've already accomplished on my list. Mine are (not in any order): - Thru-hike the Appalachian Trail. - Mountain Bike the new 480 mile Virginia mountain bike trail (not named yet). - Complete an Ironman. - Bike across the country. - Run a 10k -done, under 60 min -done, under 50 min -…

My co-worker is doing the GAP ride this year. Looks like fun.

Thanks for this info. I signed up for a DietBet that started last week. It is helping with my motivation, or maybe I should say moneyvation.

Wow, just wow. Personal question here. Are people responding to you differently than before your weight loss? (interactions with strangers)
-
It may be that you require less calories than you did when you lost the weight earlier. It's hard to know exactly home many calories you require a day and how much you burn. Are you getting more tone with all of the exercise?
-
You started out with small glasses and they got bigger as you got smaller. Very good job. You are looking great!
-
Awesome job. That takes a lot of commitment to lose that much. Keep up the good work. What's your new favorite thing with your lighter self?
-
I agree with the above. You seem to have some really low days. I would try really hard to eat your caloric goal every day and not go under. When you exercise you should go over that caloric goal. Your goal is to reshape your body and you can do that by exercise and eating better (in general I mean, not specific to your…

I'm tired of my friend beating me in races. I want to get to where I can beat him again and crush him. I want to finally run a sub 4-hour marathon. I want to compete in my first ever Ironman. To do this, I have to lost weight and gain strength and endurance. These things I will do. It's not about fat, it's about fit for me.

I did a 2 hour 55 minute mountain bike ride in tough and hilly terrain, my burn was probaby underestimated on here. It said 1200 or so calories. I did a marathon with my HRM on and it had over 3500 calories for a 4+ hour run. I don't burn that much doing workouts, just doing events like long rides or runs.

I especially like how you went from kinda sad, to badass. I love the smile!

When you get there you will quickly find people that are in the same boat you are in. Most folks will gladly answer any questions you have. Everyone went to the gym for the first time at one point.

I'm on the other side of this coin. I was diagnosed with Graves disease (hyperthyroid) a few years ago. I lost a ton of weight, was hot all the time, and was easily agitated. Since then I was put on meds to control my thyroid and the did too good a job. I went from 160's to 200+ in no time and lost all motivation to do…

See, this thread is why I wear underwear on the outside of my gym shorts.

I was waiting patiently for a young lady to finish her set on a bench of some sort. When she got up and walked away, she left some red smears on the bench (she didn't wipe it down, just walked away). I got the wipes and cleaned it off. I think that whether you are a boy or a girl, please wear something that won't leave ANY…

I found this url that has a calculation for any HIIT work out: http://www.livestrong.com/article/228774-calories-burned-from-high-intensity-interval-training/ I did mine for my 20 minute, no break workout and caem out with 119. I can live with that.

I know what you mean with the hot sauce. Sometimes the healthy food needs a kick. I like to add the taco sauce since it's low in calories and high in taste.

First off, I'm not a doc  Now that I confessed that, let me tell you what I experienced. I had a medical issue that shut down my running from marathons to nothing quickly. When I started back up, I couldn't run far and my HR was crazy high. I switched over to walking every day and built back up my stamina with that.…

Along for the ride. I'm curious too.
