I'm thinking of starting the Adam Ant diet. (If anyone remembers him)

Oh, you potty mouth you. :)

Older guy here. Same story as me. I do know what I did wrong though. By the time I got down to a weight I was happy with, MFP and watching calories became easy. Food was no longer so important to me, I was the boss of my food instead of food being the boss of me. I sometimes struggled to actually eat enough to get up to my…

Dang! I don't have cleavage. I did have moobs though...

Are really ancient and old dudes allowed to post selfies?

My wife supports me on MFP but as far as she is concerned "all you need to do is cut down a bit."

Although I am not unable, I find difficulty with hanging up the laundry as I have 'severe' photoptarmosis. As soon as I start hanging up or picking in the washing I sneeze my head off, my nose runs and my eyes stream. It's inconvenient and annoying.

Meh, it happens. It's not a race and it's not linear. Just keep on keeping on.
-
We tend to share kitchen cleaning duties. I prefer to wash my pots, pans, woks and knives or they tend to end up in the dishwasher.

You know, nature is amazing. No matter how tall or short you are your feet always seem to just reach the ground.

Not a stay at home mum, but as an air traffic engineer my job involves shifts. So often I am home in the afternoons. It makes sense for me to prepare the meals, and I love to cook anyway. Like you I like to try new recipes and I do get a bit of a kick when my wife likes something I've just made.

Yeah, she's lovely. She definitely knows her own mind, she bosses little Jakey around. And of course she loves her poppa!

One of my granddaughters, Amelia Grace.

Father of 4, granddad (poppa) to 6. I feel old! Of all the things I thought I might be when I was young it never entered my head that I would be a granddad. I mean, like granddads are so old........

Hi peeps, married chap here. Oldie but a goldie (or so I kid myself). Love to cook, I do about 90% of the cooking at home.

Ditto on the feeling cold thing, although I think my body started adjusting a little. Going into the clothes shop and being pleased that 36" trousers are way too big, surprised that 34" are a bit loose and then being absolutely gobsmacked that I can fit a 32" Bounding up the stairs two at a time instead of slowly trudging…

I do recall one where they compared two or three different people of similar ages. One was actually quite slim and did little exercise, took very little care over their fitness and ate a lot of fatty foods. However they remained at a reasonable weight, perhaps they burnt it off somehow. The other guy was quite chunky and…

True, but what some of the peeps are saying on this thread is that they have done it or are well on the way to doing it and they are being asked for advice on how they did it. When they tell people that it is a simple matter of eating a bit less and doing a bit more they get 'the look' and told that it doesn't work. I…

Bump.

Well I'm an oldie, but a goldie! Electronics Engineer, so similar. I do some travel for work, but mostly for training purposes. Most recently Vienna and Brussels. Peeps say, "aren't you lucky, going to Vienna." Ummm right, I go to Vienna, spend all day in a classroom, whoopy di do! I'm the same with drink. I can go weeks,…

I have bad photoptarmosis (sun sneezing)

Not technically the UK, sometimes we are classed as UK for post etc, sometimes we are classed as Brits. Guernsey in the Channel Islands. A Crown Dependency.

I personally don't log general house cleaning or a little light gardening. However, if I make an extra special effort and really turn a room or two upside down to clean them or do a fairly prolonged strenuous stint of gardening then I will usually log something down. I tend to estimate my time for doing anything like that…

Weekly, every Monday. I do sometimes take a sneak peek midweek but only record the Monday reading.

It is a generalised tool as far as I'm concerned. I have relatively short legs compared to my body, I take a short leg in trouser size. In the pic below, if I had religiously followed BMI, it had me listed as very overweight. Providing you are 'normal' it is probably a useful tool. I challenge anyone to say I look very…

Wow, psycho-analyst scales, gotta get me some of them! :D >:)

Wow, you've grown taller too! :) Great pic.
