  • Ugh, I came back after a loooonnngggg hiatus and thought I was going crazy. Just when I wanted to start logging again! Figures. Any other options to use??
  • I too have fibro. I have no major tips but want you to know I share your pain. There are a few here in the same situation. I too have to decide daily about activities. Work wipes me out for the day. Thank god I only work 3 days a week or the house would never get cleaned. I have lost 18 lbs since January with virtually no…
  • My advice would be that having a thyroid issue and losing 14 lbs in 14 week is more than the average person in your shoes should expect. Be happy and continue what your doing. Not trying to be snide it just takes us longer and we have to work harder. I have lost 18 lbs in 20 weeks but been at an "up and down" of the same 2…
  • This. Unfair to judge people because you got it. Until the head is ready nothing will work for them.
  • For anyone to look at your diary you need to open it. Settings, Diary settings, at bottom click public. i wish I could give advice but I am having the same dilemma. Good luck
  • I work in healthcare as an RN. I have read a lot of these posts assuming quite a bit about healthcare workers. First, I was taught very little about nutrition. I was taught a lot about how to SAVE your life in acute situation. Shame on you for judging my intelligence on my weight. I can also say that the top 3 students in…
  • Congrats on your success!!

  • I see a lot of protein shakes in your diet. I noticed I went through a can of Whey protein way too quickly ( it was suppose to have 20 servings) Saw a post someone else wrote noting to weigh the Whey protein instead of just using the scoop.... duh, why didn't I think of that, I weigh everything else! Point is you could be…
  • I hate to burst your bubble but the meds will not make the average person lose weight. I have Hasimoto's which is an auto immune disease that causes hypothyroidism. I begged my doctor for years to put me on medication. Cold, tired, sore, hair loss, low libido, high cholesterol but still had a "normal" level. He finally…
  • I guess I will keep it at 1560 for 2 more weeks. Any other input would be appreciated. I am not looking for a quick fix... I didn't gain this weight over night so I know it will take time. I am just a little frustrated.
  • Never too late to start. I only measure 1x a month and didn't start until 2 months in. Just google images of taking measurements.

  • I guess my brain was looking at the fact that I am the same weight as 9 weeks ago right now. I am just afraid to wait 2 more weeks and gain more weight.
  • I have had my D level checked. Being an RN has put me in the position to ask many MD's advice and it was a pain management Doc who said the first thing he checks is a D level. Mine was normal, but it may be something to review again.
  • I agree to a point... I was starving at 1280! I really don't want to go back there  And I lost no weight at 1435 after 5 weeks No weight lose at 1560 after 3 weeks I will probably try 1500 although I don't see why 60 calories would make that much of a difference. I guess I am just whining and wanted to feel sorry…
  • I personally take Magnesium for the Thyroid issues, D Ribose for energy, to help with ATP production ALA and ALC , and CoQ10 to help with memory issues from who knows what (fibromayalgia or Hashimotos). They actually help. Without these I am in constant pain, cold and can't think clear to save my life!
  • Yes Hashimotos is an autoimmune disease producing antibodies that attack the Thyroid. Makes you tired, increases cholesterol and a host of other fun stuff. BUT with hormone replacement I should be like any other person, again if I believe my MD which I do. Yes, What I am saying is since I upped my calories to 1435 I can't…
  • So then what would you say to me: Lost 16 lbs from Jan to March (10 weeks) eating 1280 a day Realized I was losing faster than planned and hungry all the time so I upped it to 1435 No real movement after 5 weeks so I moved it to 1561 using http://physiquelore.com/harris-benedict/ I am losing and gaining the same 2 lbs over…
  • What a fabulous story.Thank-you for sharing it!
  • The Dietitan will measure your resting metabolic rate (RMR) this is not the same as basic metabolic rate (BMR)
  • Ugh! I had them all in 1 download and it is gone!
  • Add me if you would like. Been here a few months and with the exception of 1 day (which I had no internet access) I have been on every day since I joined. I am a mom of 3 but mine are older (2 in college, 1 in HS) I am on every day to log my food and have my diary open to friends. I try to keep an eye on the activity of my…
  • What a great job!
  • Many years ago I learned a trick from someone at WW.. When she wanted to stop eating she popped 2 or 3 of the tiny Sugar-free Altoid Mints. This does work. They are strong enough in taste that you don't really want to eat choc chip cookies with them. Wonder why I stopped doing this myself???

  • I brew my own Decaf, Unsweetened Iced Tea (this is my mainstay other than water) Every night, decaf, unsweetened hot Green Tea On occasion I will have diet coke, maybe 1 X a week
  • Taken from http://www.quarterlife-health.com/?p=3521 The thought is that dieting shifts that balance of bile salts and cholesterol in the gallbladder. The cholesterol level goes up and the amount of bile salts goes down. Also, going for a long time without eating decreases the amount of times the gallbladder contracts so…
