Down 35 lbs, 6 inches in my waist (before - 211 Now 176 - GW ~145)

Google Ketogenics - there has been a ton of research and studies with great success on treating people with seizures. It's much like Atkins - (low carb/high fat). The thing I like about this plan is it's so much more than just meat, cheese and eggs. If you like to have bread there are tons of options using almond and…

And it's great with vodka too....If we go out with friends I carry the mio in my purse - ask for vodka and water and squirt a little mio in for some flavor. (Moderation, of course!) ;)

Ok - the bullies win - I'm out! Good luck to each of you in whatever you're attempting to do here.

BREAKFAST Coffee (2 cups) with heavy cream and stevia sweet drops 2 organic eggs (fried in butter) 2 slices of bacon (most day - some days I have sausage) LUNCH (Leftovers from the night before, usually a meat and vegetable) DINNER Meat and vegetable (Ribeye/salad, pork loin/green beans etc.) All with extra bacon. :) SNACK…

The reason I stated the "Pure" stevia is because you can get "stevia-like" products at lower food chain stores. They are not in it's purest form (as is the case with the product I shared the link to.) In every keto site I follow they all recommend the drops instead of the granules. Do you have to take everything and twist…

Where was is said that processed stuff is bad?

Something tells me we have a lot of experts here. I want to go on record right now - I am no expert - I am sharing MY EXPERIENCE and products I have used to succeed in eating the ketogenic way. There - now you have my disclosure, can we please move on?
-
Oh you had a point? I just thought you were being a smart *kitten*. Here's a site you can go to - it will help you better understand the science. http://steviauniversity.com/health-benefits-of-stevia/diabetes-and-obesity

Thank you sunshine!

You can grow your own plant and use the leaves if you wish. The sweet drops are an extract from the leaf. I don't use the granules (one could - they are refined though) - just depends on what you prefer.

Honestly losing weight is just a side effect for me - I knew I needed to drop weight - BUT - I felt like absolute garbage when I ate wheat/sugar. Once I got past the detox phase (for me it was about week 3 and lasted about 4 days) - I was AMAZED at how wonderful I felt. Bloat, heartburn, sluggishness - GONE - I had a great…

Chris - NO! Stevia is natural - BUT (ah, the caveat) - make sure you're using the pure stevia - not the processed stuff. I get mine at the local health food store. The drops are best (IMO). They are stable enough to bake with - I made an awesome white chocolate macadamia nut creme pie for Thanksgiving - IT WAS PHENOMENAL!…

I have seen so many peoples lives improve by removing wheat, starches and sugar. Not just in losing fat weight - but in how they feel and look (skin clears up) - they don't have to carry tums everywhere because heartburn is GONE, diabetics are stable and their numbers are better than they have ever been. I even have my dad…

AMEN SISTA!
-
And there is that! I have no thyroid - so I don't know yet how all this will play out. Mine was removed in January (which packed on the weight). Thanks for the heads up. I'm already feeling the "heat" - UGH!
-
Thank you - that's great information! I'll hold off for now - I'm still about 30-35% bg - I have about 35 more lbs to lose before I make any changes. I do know this - I will not go back to eating sugar/wheat. Stevia and Almond flour are my new best friends! :)

LOL - yes I started Ketogenics June 9th. I know I'm losing body fat - it was the muscle part that I guess I assumed was building too - heck I can flex a bicep now! ;)

I'm not 63 - so I assume you were talking to Gale! :) But - this is what I am seeing - Far left was take June 7th. Top right was August and the bottom right was September.
-
Right - that's what I believe to be true also. My weight is creeping down (so slow - like 3-4 lbs per month) - but I'm getting stronger (which is from conditioning, I can agree with that.) I have read that some keto eaters "carb load" on weekends but I'm not a body builder so I don't participate in that. Why wouldn't…
-
OK - thank you. I associated strength with growth. (The whole "muscle weighs more than fat" thing - as I went through a spell where I gained.) So theoretically with what you're saying, I can continue to gain strength without growing the muscle (physically). Out of curiosity - how many calories do you eat each day to make…
-
Considering I wasn't even talking to you - my comments/conversation were with someone else. But thanks anyway.
-
So my perception of strength (that I am noticing) is not the muscles getting "bigger" they are just getting stronger? I don't think I necessarily want bigger. But if I do, you're saying I need to increase my caloric intake to make that happen. Wouldn't (and I don't know - I haven't researched this part on ketones) the…

I'm trying really hard to enjoy this conversation and learn something here if you have something to teach. Otherwise I really don't appreciate you just chiming in to be a smart-*kitten*.
-
Let me try to describe it this way - when I first started working with a trainer - I couldn't do 10 pushups without feeling like I was going to die. I can do 40 now - non-stop before I become depleted. (Not great - but for me that's huge!) I couldn't do ball slams, squats (with weights) or lunges without darn near falling…

If you consider a 177lb female, who exercises ~4 times per week (not a body builder) and eats ~1400 calories per day (keto breakdown) a deficit. Just because I don't eat a ton of calories doesn't mean I'm not building muscle - where the heck does that even make sense? I'm not bulking up - but I am working muscles I have…

Thank you! Y'all don't celebrate Mardi Gras? ;) You should come join us one year! Y'all have real royalty on your side of the pond. We just like to pretend over here. HA!

[/quote] Great to hear your health is doing well and great to hear you are reducing body fat. However, I still think you're mistaken as it relates to "building muscle", so much as you're losing fat and the muscle is now becoming more visible. In order to add additional LBM, you would need to be a caloric surplus (outside…
