  • do you take a multivitamin? Iron can make you constipated. Also make sure you are still getting enough fiber.
  • peas are super high fiber. I like making split pea soup in the slow cooker and eating it for lunch.

  • I just wanted to pop in and say, I've read a few comments on here about the heart effects of "Phen". Don't get Phentermine/Adipex confused with Fen-Phen, which was a drug that was recalled in the 90s. This was a combination of Fenfluramine and Phentermine. "Fenfluramine was marketed by American Home Products (later known…
  • My activity level as a college student--biking everywhere I went and working out at the gym--changed dramatically when i got a desk job after graduation. My eating habits didn't change and I slowly ballooned up. I miss being able to eat anything and never gain :( But there's no way I could fit that much activity in my day…
  • I know exactly how you feel because this was me up until a month or so ago. In 2013 I lost about 30, and by January 2015 it was all back on and I was lazier than I could remember. I was depressed...and I toyed with getting a dr. to put me on appetite suppressants, something I would have never done before. But eventually I…
  • wow!! Way to go! that's amazing :)
  • Right...like I want to follow diet advice of a fat man. Your mom sounds like mine, though! I was saying how I'm bummed because I feel like I'm working out way more than I have in years and eating less than I have in years yet the weight is not moving. She keeps suggesting weird diets like that..the last one she told me was…
  • I know when I started eating vegan I got very bloated (gassy) a lot..some research said drastic changes in fiber intake and more vegetables can lead to that at first, but your body will adjust itself and it will go away. As far as getting results, eat less than you burn a day. Weigh/measure everything. Lift heavy for body…
  • I'm trying this one out too. Glad to see another raw till 4'er on here!
  • You could always do a vegan protein shake/smoothie. I use Lifetime brand - Life's Basics Plant Protein Mix...but there are lots of others on the market that you may feel better suit you. A little research by Googling should help :)
  • thanks everyone for the responses! I will try all of these :) I appreciate the time you've taken to address my question :) Happy 4th!
  • lots of vegan do 80-10-10 (80% carbs, 10% protein, 10% fat)..protein is not needed in such quantities for humans as many like to think. In fact too much protein can lead to things like gout :/ Of course with such high carb numbers, ideally you'd be getting these carbs from fruits and vegetables, grains nuts and seeds--not…
  • Anyone who wants to can add me too :) I'm also looking for more vegan friends on here. Cheers!
  • Hey! Congrats on going vegan..it really is the best decision I've made too, as others have said! I personally do enjoy faux meats like fieldroast (not sure if they have this in the UK), but I try not to make them a staple of my diet. I've found that Pinterest is the mecca of yummy vegan recipes. Give that a try? I think…
  • try reading up on food combining. It has to do with the digestive speed of different foods and combining them together in certain ways to decrease gas and bloating.
  • I did a couple of weeks of 30DS then got sick and stopped. THEN i decided to quit 30DS and start Ripped in 30 (don't ask why, I don't even know). So right now i am doing Rin30 and it's killer (in a good way). I am committed to this one right now. But either way, 30DS and Rin30 are pretty similar so either way you go it'll…
  • I just want to say congrats on giving veg a chance again! I also do it for ethical reasons and I commend you. I also have this problem actually and I know you are doing whey protein but if you ever want to try, they have plant protein powders which I try to get in every day or so. I use Lifetime brand Life's Basics plant…
  • Yall are both right. Taking a day off was bad idea lol. I did it yesterday even though I was still hurting and it did help eleviate the pain some. I'm not going to take any breaks til the 6th day from now on :) thanks guys!
  • great progress so far, keep up the good work!

  • I did my first work out Monday and I couldn't even do it yesterday because I was so sore!! Getting up and down from the chair at my desk at work is torture lol. I am going to stretch good tonight so that I can get back to doing it and hopefully keep up with it every day. Good luck! Add me if you want support!
  • Also, if someone references a dr. oz article I would take that with a grain of salt. That man is pwned by the big ag business.
  • lots of companies will use fillers to dilute products while still being able to put the helpful ingredient on the label. Meanwhile, the benefits of said ingredient were probably tested at really high doses--doses you won't get in store bought pills. I'm not saying green coffee extract works or doesn't work, I haven't…
  • oh good lord that man is amazing lol.. thanks for these!
  • Yeah I am a complete n00b too so even a regular pushup is impossible for me at this point lol...gotta start on my knees. Thank though, yall! I will look up bodyweight exercises now.
  • I hear you..I don't really like vegetables either--and I'm a vegetarian, go figure. I read a good tip about pureeing and mixing vegetables in your foods to "hide it". I think I'm going to start doing that. One I have been doing is making banana strawberry smoothies with vanilla almond or coconut milk and putting fresh…
  • A friend of mine has insulin resistance which makes her gain weight and almost impossible to lose if not on meds. Have you had that checked?
  • I know exactly whst you mean--the same happens to me. I have been doing the 16:8 intermittent fasting (google it). I haven't eaten breakfast in 2 weeks and I'm fine. I wait to eat lunch at 12 and then dinner when i get home from work. That way I don't feel hungry all day and can have larger meals later, which I prefer.…
