I've gone over my calorie goal on a regular basis but have still lost 5 pounds already. Low carb is key, I watch that one the most!

My macros are set to 14g of carbs (but I have gone over, not by much) my protein is 57g and fat is 96g. I am just starting out so sometimes I go over on fat and carbs, not too much trouble hitting protein.

@ Jessica, I am just starting out and am having a hard time eating 1149 per day, I am still hungry. I'd like to know roughly what your meal plan is so I can try to shoot for that. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kaela, I am also just starting Keto, I've tried just cutting calories but was always terribly hungry. I've been doing keto (somewhat) for the past two weeks and so far I do not feel hungry like I did before. I am also doing intermittent fasting and have watched many videos done by Dr Eric Berg. I have lost five pounds…

this^ what you are describing is NOT normal, you need a FULL battery of tests, and possibly a second opinion. Not all doctors do the full range of tests and some don't even believe or understand them. There is a wide range of "normal" and it may not be your "normal". Treat your symtoms, not your test results. It's YOUR…

Thank you to all who posted your comments and suggestions. I did end up going with the STRONG CURVES book. I read it over the last week and began my first workout two days ago. I am sore, but not too much, Just feeling those muscles I haven't felt in a while. AND you know what? MY BACK was not as sore as it usually is when…

Wow she is 56? that sounds like a success story ;) do you know if she has always been into fitness and excercise or more sedentary (like me) :embarassed: I'd like to know there is hope for me........... to be strong and fit. I'm trying to overcome my fear of failure and want to really try to think positive.

Questions: 1. Does "Stronglifts" include core strenght? (That is a big area of weakness for me) hence the continuous back pain. 2. I hate to say "because of my age" because I've always felt that did not apply to me. that is until i hurt my knee when i started the 30DS - so , that was out..... Anyways, I want to make sure…

This!! Always start with the Positives :)

Wow....... This is very discouraging.

Me too!!! I've been eating what I want, (not too bad considering my pantry doesn't have all the junk it used to)...... but, I wasn't logging ANYthing. I bought a weight set so I could work out at home (have to be there for the kids) but I've only used it TWICE. I also have a treadmill..... wich has cobwebs on it. :) I…

I can cut out the processed food. ..........but, starches and alcohol too??!! Cmon, you gotta have something to enjoy. :drinker:

I would think that if you wore it, it would do the work that your muscles should be doing. You just have to keep reminding yourself to tighten your core. And maybe do some specific "core strengthening" excercises. IMO I think your core muscles would just "relax" more if your wearing a corsett type thing.

When I first started I was eating 1200 or less a day too. .......and my scale wouldn't move. You are supposed to take your TDEE minus 20% - that's my understanding. Not 500 calories, that would take you too low!!!
-
This^^ I don't know what all your stats are but....... If you look at your calories as a rolling average over the week and stay within your BMR to TDEE range you will meet your goals!! Slow and steady. You will do awesome!!!! ETA: most ppl find 1200 cals too low (as i did when i first started) til I found TDEE!!
-
Did you say why???? the question is WHY NOT!!?? I"M a sucker for creamy pasta and some pino!!:drinker: The thing is ...............you are still excercising - that is fantastic! There is nothing wrong with indulging in these foods, (and drinks :) ) For me I look at what I was doing before and what I am doing NOW. Before, I…

Congratulations on needing new cute clothes!!!! I have clothes that i am waiting (wieghting) to get back into!!! Every once in a while I try them on, only to rip them off in frustration cuz they're still too small. I have been buying clothes over the last two years..........as I was busting out of the previous sizes -…

Yay beans:wink: Not my fav so i dont have any in the house. Good answer though.... I find it difficult to get the macros right. Usually im not eating pizza and cupcakes tho.

I know I'm within the healthy range. I just feel better about myself with less weight (below the waist particularly). I also have noticed that at a lower weight my back doesn't hurt at all. and now it hurts all the time. I am trying to motivate myself to get off my butt and start working out, I believe strength training…

I changed to TDEE approx. 3 weeks ago. Fell off the wagon last Friday and went over my calories by 550. I didn't realize that uping my calories from 1200 to 1470 should have been a slow process, but I don't think that I was hitting the 1470 every day either. As a side note - my mother came to visit, for two weeks, so I was…

Thanks - I'll do that.

Bump SW: 147 CW: 142.2 GW: 125-130 46 years old, 5'6' (no meds) I'm having some issues too. I started at 1200 cals/day and lost a few (7) lbs - but I was STARVING. So, then calculated my TDEE and increased my calories to 1470. and now I've gained back 2.2 lbs. :noway: I have a desk job and do the normal running around…

I go over my sugars too, but mostly from healthy foods..... so I'm not too worried about it. Especially since I am now eating way healthier and smaller portions than I did before I joined MFP. I started out with only 1200 cals/day and it was awful. Then I read about the thread regarding TDEE so I upped my calories. I feel…
