^This. I have a friend who has been a CF devotee for 18 months and she loves it -- but I suspect it is a combination of the workouts and the social atmosphere that her particular gym promotes. She has made a lot of friends there and they do a lot of stuff outside of the gym together. This is the cool part. :) I would not,…

DH was out of town this weeksoI repeated my previous lift for this reason....sorry! I'm sure it sucked. :(

Thanks for the update...I am in week three of SL 5x5 and appreciate the success stories. :)

When I first started lifting eight years ago The Body Sculpting Bible for Women instructed stiff-legged deadlifts, so that is how I learned to do them. I am trying to reteach myself for SL (I am in week 2), but you know what they say about old dogs and new tricks....

You can get started, but I would highly recommend find somewhere you can do squats with a barbell. You will have much better form and, if you stick with the program, you will be far beyond a 55# squat by the end of the first stage.

If the trainer is employed by the Y and you really felt offended or as if her behavior was inappropriate I would direct a complaint to the welcome center or managerial staff. You are a paying member and have a right to reasonable access of the equipment.

I am in week three right now. I've lost about 1.5 pounds; I haven't measured inches yet and I won't until the end. I am doing this in conjunction with a 10k training program; I am not using Jillian's diet. I am eating in moderation following MFP Monday thru Friday with some cheating allowed on weekends to preserve my…

I also started with the Couch 2 5k program -- it's great! I will also add that, during my runs, I think that the first five minutes or so tend to be the worst. Sometimes it takes me that long to regulate my breathing, find a stride, and settle into the run. What I'm saying is -- maybe if you can force yourself to push…

It took my body close to two months to respond to the changes I was making, too. It is incredibly frustrating! It sounds like you're doing everything right, so I would say stick with it. The only suggestion I could possibly make would be to see if your body has a negative reaction to carbs -- maybe just cut back a bit or…

Great! I kinda sorta describe myself as a "runner" now thanks to C25K. It's amazing how well it works. Good luck in the race!!

I agree with the responses that you need more calories; I looked at your diary and I would be STARVING if I were you! :) Are you strength training? That can help push a plateau. Also, what about adding a whey protein shake in somewhere? Research has shown that people who add whey protein to their diets lose more weight.…

Low carb Mexican Casserole. Could probably be turned low-fat if you wanted to use low fat dairy. MEXICAN CASSEROLE Ingredients: 1 1/2 lb ground beef 1/4 cup onions chili powder cumin red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper salt and pepper to taste 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese sour cream 8 oz cream cheese softened jalepenos (…

I started couch to 5k at the beginning of the summer and now I actually think of myself as a runner. Generally, I now run (3) 5ks a week....mostly because I enjoy it. NEVER in a million years did I think those words would leave my mouth. Good luck, stick to it, it really does work. :)

Cashews -- 1/4 cup is 160 calories. Sometimes I add a teaspoon of sugar free chocolate chips, which is about 30 calories, for a total under 200.
