Started Stronglifts....

I have used New Rules of Lifting for Women, and I feel like this first workout was a "bye". I used the bar for the press and the row and added 20# for the squat. It was very easy and I sailed through it without breaking a sweat. Should I add more than the prescribed 5# on each for the next workout? Also, I guess I'm looking for some encouragement that this is going to challenge me and I am going to see some progress.

Unless you were lifting a lot with NROLW then stick to the prescribed weights. The weight will get really heavy fast. You need to work on getting proper form at first. Also just because it feels light it doesnt mean that its not working your muscles. The program is designed this way for a reason.

Stronglifts is awesome! I love it so much. Just stick with it. Also, I feel like I am sweating so much now that I am doing more cardio than when I am actually doing cardio. Just be patient it will work.

If you're not brand new to working out I'd say maybe, but part of the initial phase is to get you comfortable with the movements before adding challenging weight where form becomes so important.

Stick with the progression of the program - the weight gets heavy faster than you realize.

I would just stick with 5 pound increments... you do squats 3x a week so that is 15 pounds. It will get heavy fast.
