  • Every gym session I do 45 minutes of cardio & 30 minutes weights.
  • I lost a stone (14lb) using MFP from Feb-July & that was without weighing everything. I've not changed what I eat, the only change is being a lot more active now. I've lost 9cm from my waist, 7cm from hips & 4cm from thigh since Feb too. My thighs have actually got a bigger circumference since going to the gym - don't know…
  • When I go on the cross-trainer, exercise bike & run on the treadmill the machine says I've burnt 350 calories in total. I don't trust that so although I log the exercise I don't use it to 'earn' calories - if I do I put 100 at the most. So I'm still on the 1200 per day before I started going to the gym.
  • I'm only 5ft2 & have a desk job so even when I re-set my goal to include 4 weekly workouts, the daily calorie allocation was still 1200. I'm not obsessed with just eating 1200 calories a day! I'm going to add exercise calories but halve the suggested MFP amount allowed, so I'll be having enough calories, but I'll see how…
  • I'm 61 kg & do 15 minutes treadmill - half running at 9.5km/hr & half fast walking at 5.5km/hr. 10 minutes cross-trainer, 10 minutes bike, 8 minutes recumbant bike. Rest is weights.
  • I only did this because my husband frequently asks me what weight I was when we got married 8 years ago. I took that as a big hint that I needed to do something drastic about being a size 12-14 whereas I was a size 8 when we met. Because of this my self-esteem's very low. I've lost 12lb in total since February - mostly the…
  • I mean not go over the limits, I won't be silly about it :)
  • Once I've finished this on Thursday I'll be going strictly back on MFP & ensuring I stay under the carb & fat limits. I know a lot of MFP members won't approve, but I only did this to lose a large amount of weight as it's my wedding anniversary at the end of the month & we're going away. I've also upped the amount of…
  • Thanks everyone. I have pet chickens so always have fresh eggs to use. Greek yoghurt sounds good - I'd been buying the 0% fat one with a honey serving attached, not realising until I put the info into MFP that obviously the honey's a LOT of sugar!
  • Thanks for explaining it to me. I want to lose 14-18lb & have only been doing MFP for 3 weeks. I originally intended combining it with traditional 5:2 but I can't stand going to bed with a rumbling tummy & feeling like I'm starving after a 500 cal fast day. The 5 x 1000 cals + 2 x 700 cal 'fast' days were suggested to me…
  • What are the most common foods you choose to eat on a fast day? How does this sound: BREAKFAST: Tea + semi-skimmed milk 15 cals Special K moments 99 cals LUNCH: Chicken cup soup 99 cals DINNER: 2 x Poached eggs 150 cals 1 x slice 50/50 bread 94 cals 2 x Tea + semi-skimmed milk 30 cals TOTAL: 487 cals
  • I'm definitely going to try eating a proper meal in the evening & manage just on drinks & cup-a-soups whilst I'm at work. Sounds like a better way of organising my food so at least I'll be full when I go to bed. Thanks for your help
  • I'm 5ft1.5 with sedentary job. I started off 3 weeks ago 148lb, now 146lb. Daily allowance 1200 cals. Today I'll have used 800 cals after having all planned meals.
  • I always thought it was a bad idea to eat carbs after 7-8pm. So it doesn't matter as long as you're within your daily allowance?
  • I'm only 5 foot 1 & have a desk job, 1200 cals is what MFP allowed me when I put all the info in. It's definitely enough for me. I log exercise (1hr gym & 2hrs walking per week), but just put 1 cal because I don't want it adding additional calorie allowance.
  • Suppose I'll just have to be patient ... not my strong point!
  • Thanks for the helpful replies everyone. I'm off to M&S to get a stash of healthy, filling goodies - I don't have enough time to prepare things at home to bring to work. - Karen, that's Jasper, I found & adopted him as a 3 month old kitten living with his 2 brothers & mum in an abandoned car, he's been a little mischief…
  • Thanks everyone. When I say I allow myself 1100 cals daily, I do it that way because it gives me a bit of room for manoeuvre - looking back I'm actually nearer to 1200. I'm only 5ft1 and a size 12-14 which makes me feel like a barrel, whereas someone average height not a shorty may be pleased with being that size. My 2nd…
  • Sorted it on the regular web version now, thanks :)
  • I've only started back on MFP + 5:2 today after a 5 month break. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure on Friday so now it's not just getting back to a size 12, it's about getting my B/P down too.
  • I'm only 5ft2 and want to lose a stone.
  • Thanks everyone. It does tie in with hormones so hopefully will notice some difference next week. I ve just started to measure waist hips & thighs too to keep track of losing inches (I hope)!
