Breakfast on the go

I always have breakfast at work sitting at my desk. I'm not a morning person & have to organise my son getting ready for college, make sure he's had breakfast & his medication before driving to drop him then going to work. I've been having Special K, Crunchy Nut Cornflakes or Special K Moment bars. What are some quick lower sugar alternatives that will keep me going til lunchtime?

Boiled eggs last for several days. You can boil them on Sunday to have throughout the week.
I also like cottage cheese and higher protein yogurts like Noosa or Greek yogurt.
Also, some of my friends make egg muffins, which are like omelettes baked in muffin tins. They can be frozen and then warmed up when needed. You can find recipes for them online.0 -
I like to mix Greek yogurt (Dannon light n fit 5.3 ounces) with a 1/3 serving of walnuts, 1/2 serving of rolled oats, and 1/2 serving of dark chocolate granola. I eat either clementines or a banana with that for breakfast. I usually measure all of this out the night before when I pack my lunch. Apples with some peanut butter can be good, but I usually need more than that.
I am wanting to make breakfast sandwiches on the go. Fry your egg in a cookie cutter to get the round shape, toast a Thomas English muffin, fry up sausage or bacon, and let all of those ingredients cool. Build the sandwich with an egg, piece of meat, and slice of cheese then wrap in plastic wrap twice. Put in a freezer Ziploc bag to freeze, I think you microwave for about 60 seconds or so (may be more, I can't remember right now) to heat up in the morning. I will probably add a Greek Yogurt to this meal.
Hope this helps!0 -
Greek yogurt with nuts and fruit in it. I put steel cut oats in a canning jar with some nuts and a little brown sugar. Toss the boiling water in and seal it and when I'm ready to eat it at work, it's all ready.0

Do you use the amount of water suggested on the package for the oats or are the measurements different done that way? I might try that.

I love a protein shake. Boiled eggs are good too (the only way I can really eat eggs). Also, as others have said, greek yoghurt. Be sure to not get the stuff already mixed with fruit as it usually has a bunch of sugars etc. added (some brands do anyway). I buy Fage 2% or 0% as my supermarket doesn't stock full fat. Mix in some chopped nuts and frozen or fresh berries and bam! instant goodness.0

Thanks everyone. I have pet chickens so always have fresh eggs to use. Greek yoghurt sounds good - I'd been buying the 0% fat one with a honey serving attached, not realising until I put the info into MFP that obviously the honey's a LOT of sugar!0

Yes!
I make egg cupcakes. Low fat cheese sprinkled in with eggs and some spinach then I freeze them in a large ziplock bag and pull them out as needed
They defrost very quickly and are packed with protein0 -

Breakfast burrito ~ 1 small tortilla or wrap, scrambled egg, cheese, tomato and green, pepper. I like to add ham while my husband likes to add sausage. Make several at once, wrap in plastic wrap and toss in the freezer. Can be nuked for brwakfast one morning for 90 seconds or so0
