  • I know exactly how you feel. I was down almost 20 lbs and due to some unfortunate circumstances gained almost all of it back:( I too was planning on being a size 8 by now, but it didnt happen. I just try and tell myself to look at how far I've come. I'm sure we could all kick ourselves at one point or another but its…
  • This is exactly what comes to my mind, metabolism and hormone issues. I would have to agree with the getting a checkup soon:)
  • I would like the recipe for the Green smoothie too please!!
  • I can gain upwards of 5 lbs leading up to my TOM, but usually a few days after starting it drops back to normal.

  • Nope! I drink at least a gallon of water everyday!! Its good for you, the more the better!!!
  • Are you close to your "Time"? I know I can fluctuate about 5 lbs during that time period. Perhaps thats the issue???
  • If you feel you must eat, try getting a little more protein in. I looked at your diary and you seem a little light with that. But agreed, if you're not hungry, then no reason to eat since you're over 1200.
  • Me? Terrible!!! I mean, I have managed to lay off of most things but if it were here I'd eat it. I cant stop eating as a matter of fact. Its all I think about and I cant wait to eat again. I need to get past that somehow. I was doing really well, but recently all I want to do is eat. Its been this way for close to a month…
  • See your doctor. When I had calf pain, it turned out to be a torn meniscus!! (That was in my upper calf though). Also, go to a proper running shoe store and be fitted for a quality pair of shoes. That will help tremendously:)
  • Its probably a combination of both, so I wouldnt get too worried. I go up almost 5 lbs for my TOM. Combine that with a cheat day and OMG, I cry if I get on the scale!!! But it usually goes away within 2 days of starting. Hang in there, it'll be gone before next weigh in!!!
  • Eat your exercise calories back. You want to eat a NET of 1200 calories. Believe me, it worked for me at first, but eventually my body caught up and I stopped losing.
  • I think that if you're doing that much cardio, you probably should be eating more. Are you eating a NET of 1530? Try to eat all your NET calories. When I lost weight before, I got through my plateau surprisingly by eating more!! I dunno, maybe I'm wrong, but its just a thought.
  • I've got shirts from races that I've done and I just use them to work out in at the gym. They are good conversation starters and almost like a badge of honor!!
  • I weigh myself daily, but its going to drive me to drink!!! Weight fluctuates too much on a daily basis for it to be a good gauge. Many people and most experts say that once a week is sufficient. This should work for you so that you dont have any surprises at the end of the month. You'll be able to watch your progress a…
  • Geez! I dont look as good as you and I wore one one my recent vacation!! I say as long as you're comfortable... GO FOR IT!!
  • WOO HOO!!! Congrats!
  • Follow Hal!!! I followed his plan for 2 half marathons and performed how I wanted. I've ran 2 miles the day before each and rested 2 days before. That's what worked for me though, everyone is a little different. Best of luck on your great accomplishment!!!
  • Maroon 5 has a few good ones "Secret" (and more) and Nickelback has some great ones too including "Someone that you're with". Pat Benetar pretty much rocks out too!!! It takes a while to determine which songs are good for your pace. I have to be able to match the pace of the music or its no good for me!!
  • I've never heard of any of these as fat burning supplements, so I'll be interested to hear more answers as well.
  • Hi there! I suffer from overeating and stress eating so I can understand what you are talking about. If I can give you one food that I really love that doesnt taste like a healthy food its Kellogg's Fiber Plus Antioxidants Chewy chocolate bars. I swear they taste just like a candy bar, not a health food. Also, if you can…
  • Did you weigh yourself at a different time of day or after a meal you hadn't had before? Perhaps you drank more water than the first time you weighed in?
  • I've heard of Carb Loading for days before big fitness events (IE, Marathons, Triathlons, etc), but I dont know about what your describing. Maybe try googling carb loading.
  • We all go through ebbs and flows where we lose a little motivation and fall off the wagon. Since you've been training so hard you probably felt overwhelmed with so much to do. BUT.... Tracking your food and following up with MFP is one of the best things you can do for your training! Especially if you're using the exercise…
  • Starting on the treadmill and then adding in outdoor running is exactly what I did when recovering from shinsplints. It really seemed to help. I always looked forward to getting back outside too! I do strength training 2-3 times a week, whether it be free weights or machines. I have a variety of exercises that I do so I…
  • Monica, I thought your Doctor was helping you with some of this? If so, I think he may be off on that carb intake thing he told you. I really believe you need more carbs than what he is telling you. Let's see your diary:)
  • I've never heard of this, but exercising injuries are nothing to be taken lightly. I would visit your doctor and discuss with him/her.
  • I agree. Are you eating your exercise calories? Are you working out a lot? My guess is that your body may be going into a starvation mode. But make sure that the calories you are eating are good ones, not empty calories:)
  • Congrats!!! WAY TO GO!!!
  • Good, especially after a workout. They have a lot of potassium which your body needs. Like the post above, dont overdo it though.
