  • Desserts tend to not be filling, like the poster above mentioned. However, I take elements of dessert and add them to foods with a lot of protein and/or fiber that help keep me full. For example, I make what I call an Greek Yogurt Rolo Oreo McFlurry, and eat it for any meal. It's greek yogurt (I use plain and add vanilla,…
  • I liked how I looked, and was finding it harder and harder to eat at a deficit as my intake requirements went down with my weight, and I felt ready to start eating a bit more.
  • I usually get flavored vodka with club soda.
  • I usually bank calories through the week and then when I go over on the weekend, it evens out. Doesn't work for everyone but it seems to work for me :). I try not to go out to eat too much anyway, but when I do, it's usually on the weekend so it helps to have those extra calories.
  • I always, always eat them back...I couldn't imagine not, haha. Technically, through the week it looks like I don't eat all of them, but that's because I save calories for the weekend so by the end of the week, I will have eaten all of them back.
  • That's not bad at all....I didn't count last week but...I'm pretty sure I ate close to 2500 over maintenance every day. hahaha. terrible. I do it every year though so I know I have no problem getting back to normal and won't stay off the wagon.
  • I usually take a week off around Christmas (and a couple other times a year). I rest from exercise and indulge way more than usual. Doesn't work for everyone but I do as a treat for myself and time it strategically with holidays/vacations. I do gain some weight, but I go back to eating normally and working out, and it…
  • there are tons of oatmeal recipes online, but here is one that I do (it doesn't involve whey...but I'm sure you could add it in). I call it cookie dough oatmeal! I add in egg whites (I find it makes the oats more filling, I add while cooking), vanilla extract, a little butter, brown sugar and chocolate chips.
  • I love oats....I make so many different versions of oatmeal, usually involving chocolate in some way. I also add egg whites to my oatmeal to make it more filling. Doesn't affect the taste as I put a few different toppings in.
  • I like to add pudding/jello mix to nonfat Greek yogurt...tastes delicious! In fact, just a while ago I had Oikos plain greek yogurt (0%), strawberry jello powder and some cocoa powder. was great! I used about a half tablespoon of cocoa powder and a couple tablespoons of the jello mix. I have also used butterscotch pudding…
  • I like to do flavoured vodka and club soda, or vodka lime.
  • Actually, I would be okay with just getting leaner. Again, I'm not really educated on this so I thought the only way to look more lean was to gain more muscle, haha. These were all very helpful tips, thanks everyone. I think I may actually stay at maintenance for a while to see how it goes, but if I feel I'm not seeing the…
  • Yeah, I know it's a small surplus, but I am okay with going really slow. Like I said, I'm just paranoid about belly fat because that seems to be the first place I gain weight. Your guys' advice to just see how it works for a while and then make changes accordingly seems to make sense.
  • Good for you for standing up for yourself! The situation sucks but it's good that you feel you have enough self worth to tell it like it is. I hope you feel a little better every day.
  • I recently was blindsided by a breakup as well...together 8 years, first real boyfriend..so many similarities! We weren't engaged, but he is away training for a job and I was about to uproot my life and move for him when he got posted, so at least he did it before I quit my job, which I enjoy. I am still pretty devastated,…
  • Maybe I will be excited about all of these pros one day...but my 8-year relationship just ended. Apparently, he has been feeling different for months but didn't let on. I thought everything was great, we talked about our future together, etc. Now it's just over all of a sudden. Still doesn't feel real.....One day I will…
  • Good for you! I love hearing success stories not only from losing weight, but from gaining :)
  • I am set at sedentary as well, so if it is several hours, I will log it but put a shorter amount of time because I eat my exercise cals back and MFP can overestimate. If I'm out most of the day, I will put 1, maaaybe 2 hours of walking at a slow pace.
  • I usually take the weekends off. I will still hula hoop and maybe go for a walk, but I won't do any strength training or more intense cardio on the weekends. Yesterday was an exception because I was going to a wedding and wanted more calories to eat back, haha. Still ended up over but oh well, at least the impact was less…
  • I am maintaining and I eat back all my calories. However, through the week it doesn't look I do because I leave 150 to 200 cals depending on what exercise I have done, and then I go over on the weekends, so that equals out to me eating back exercise cals. It has been working well for me :). I even took a week off around…
  • I had a cold, along with some chills recently. I felt like **** but really did not want to skip my workout. I took some cold medicine that helped me feel a LOT better, did my workout, and continued to feel better afterward. You just sort of have to play it by ear and do what's right for you. If you think you can handle it,…
  • I save calories through the week so that I have more on weekends. I usually order some sort of flavored vodka with club soda, much lower in calories than mixing with pop or juice.
  • If you really are hungry, pick something tasty and filling to eat. If you are craving something like that kit kat, just remember that you will probably still feeling hungry after you eat it. However, if you are really under calories for the week, just go for it (although maybe get your own and not take your boss's kit kat,…
  • I just try to find similar dishes that are on MFP and use those to guess the calories. I will eat at a bit of a deficit through the week and then eat those extra cals back on the weekend. However, I have to admit that for special occasions, like a vacation, I don't log and pig out! I put a few pounds on, but after getting…
  • Eating more, and knowing that I won't have to get rid of any more clothes because they are too big. I can now shop and know I will be able to keep the item of clothing for a long time!
  • I had oatmeal with honey, sliced banana and peanut butter mixed in....yum. I'm always sad when my food is over, haha.
  • I'll fit something into my day if I reallllly want it, but another option when I don't have a ton of calories is to mix cocoa powder with sweetener of choice (I use stevia, but real sugar or Splenda would work) and greek yogurt. I like it! Also, I enjoy fudgsicles, only 100 calories.
  • I use weighted and I was a little sore at first, but that went away after a few days. I log it under Wii Fit Super Hula Hoop. I am one of those people that does not use a HRM and just goes by what MFP says. I know it can overestimate but whatever workout I do, I always subtract time for warmup and cooldown and it seems to…
  • I just try to find similar dishes from chain restaurants that have the calories listed here on MFP. For example, if I'm at a local restaurant without nutrition info provided and I get a caesar salad, pizza, pasta, etc., I'll log a similar dish from East Side Mario's or somewhere similar. All you can do is your best guess…
