I took Citalopram for a long period at least twice and did not gain weight.

This is your problem - thinking instead of knowing. Chances are without weighing your foods you're underestimating how much you're eating.

I also get chest pain quite often, which started when I was 16. I have underlying conditions that cause it, including a heart problem. It could be a pulled muscle, yes, but it could also be indicative of a serious underlying condition. See a doctor.

I log every day and currently have my diary open. :)

I hail from Sussex (Crawley). I now live in the Midlands but I'm in Sussex every other month or so for a while. Add me :)

I am 5 4 according to me, but 5 3 according to the hospital! I'm currently at 143, down from 217 and am aiming for 126. Add me! :)

I have IBS and suffer with constipation. Not everyone goes every day, it's not necessarily unhealthy to go 2-3 days without going. Having said that, there's no point increasing your fibre if you also increase your fluid intake. Fibre will act like concrete unless you flush it out with extra fluid. Everyone else is right -…

I also have Implanon (well, I have Nexplanon, the UK's most modern one). I've had one for 4 years. I started losing weight in Oct 2013 and although it hasn't been super fast, the weight has been shifting relatively easily. I eat 1200-1500 calories a day. I have noticed though, that I now carry my weight lower - I can't…

I have fibromyalgia. I exercise when the pain isn't as bad and I primarily use swimming as my exercise as it's the lowest impact thing, but at a good speed it can still burn a decent amount of calories.

Why will I stick to it? My health. It's worse when I'm bigger and I can't physically eat how I used to anyway. I also don't deprive myself, I take time off my diet for meals out and social events and I pretty much eat what I want 24/7. The biggest thing is that what I want to eat now is different from what I wanted to eat…

The only thing I do is swimming.

Patience! Which is the hardest thing. If you've been losing, keep doing what you're doing. Plateaus are normal, everyone gets them, and yes they suck! If you really don't see any movement after a few weeks, up your calories, lower your calories or up your exercise. As for motivation, remind yourself why you started this…

I doubt it. As others have said, IBS usually has a trigger food, which you can only identify by tinkering with your diet. Unfortunately, for some of IBS sufferers (me), finding the trigger is hard and seems to change everyday. If you've been eating *really* bad and suddenly go *really* healthy, some difference is to be…

Also - I take diet breaks fairly often, weekends off for events and weeks off now and then when I go away somewhere. Is that doing good, or doing harm?

I weigh everything, so maybe I just didn't do 1400 for long enough? I got impatient when I stopped losing. I should go up to 1400 now then? And not wait until I can start using weights (which will not be for a good few months more at least).

It's not important to me at all. My partner has in fact lost a great deal of weight and is now too skinny - I dislike it and he gets comments on it, from family and even work colleagues - and is a gym obsessive. It's his choice, as much as I dislike it. In return, I wouldn't expect him to pressure me into losing weight and…

- Log everything. - Try lowering your calories, try upping your calories.

I don't work and so don't have a set schedule (or sleep schedule) and the only reason I get breakfast in most days is because I take morning meds and they require food. I currently have several breakfasts on rotate: - Bran flakes, skimmed milk, raisins and a banana - Flavoured porridge, made with water - Turkey bacon with…

I also suffer with constipation. I have IBS and other health conditions. Chronic constipation could be an indicator of an underlying condition, you MUST talk to a doctor about it. Stop taking OTC meds and get prescription ones. Too much fibre may also be the issue. Fibre acts like concrete in the bowels and only makes us…

Yes - when I go to visit my parents. I see friends I don't see much and that usually involves eating out and cooking at my parents' place is a no-no. I'll either make healthier choices or I'll just go with the flow and have my standard weight gain of 2lbs. I don't mind - that's life. I'm not going to miss out on the fun…

Whenever I'm bleeding, I'm heavier and it's harder to lose. I have irregular bleeding and no real cycle, so other than that I don't notice.

Stick with the one scale and use that. The situation is different at a doctors' room than your home, you've been moving about, maybe eating, wearing more clothes. My doctors' scale weighed me yesterday about half a stone heavier than my scales - but I'd had a drink, my meds and was wearing clothes and trainers, whereas at…

I don't swap many foods, I eat what I was eating before, just less of it. Or less of that type of thing. I switched mince from frozen to fresh and from normal to extra lean, that's the biggest change really. I switch chocolate bars and crisps for lower calorie options, if that counts? I don't eat certain foods so often -…

Yes. I'm 5 3' and started at 201lbs. My long term goal has been 140, for like, 15 years, longer than I can remember. Coming down I realised that I don't like how I look still, I don't look how I thought I'd look, so I've changed it to 126. I'm at 139 and I still hate how I look, so 140 definitely isn't where I want to be.

I am 5ft 4, 26 and only active due to exercise, usually 3x a week. If I ate 2000 calories a day, I'd gain. I am losing on 1200-1400. Maintain is about 1750 for me.

I have IBS C and after losing 60lbs, it is better but not THAT much better. IBS is individual, unfortunately you'll have to tinker with your diet and find what your triggers are. Be sure to have an adequate fluid intake, though.

Try a week at higher calorie, with the same exercise level and see what happens.
