@apullum since my surgeon is out of state, it’s hard to communicate with one another, so it’s hard to say what are good exercises and what are not. I know that running, any weight baring exercises are off the table. Once I’m on my way to recovery, I’m going to hopefully return to Pilates. I did Pilates before and after my…

@apullum what’s interesting is, back in 2014-15, I was the fittest I’ve ever been. I was down to below 200lbs and ate extremely well. I was able to maintain and lose weight up until spring 2017. So, long story, short, this will be my first time losing weight without the gym, so I appreciate the feedback. I think the most…

Q1. It’s been about a month since I started trying to lose weight. Q2. About two weeks, I believe I lost 4 lbs that time. Q3. An attainable, realistic goal of 20-30 pounds. Q4. I have a food scale that I got when I was much more active. I can definitely begin using it again. Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate…

We have been working for the last month or so to get me added back to my dad’s insurance, as a dependent. I have already been verified, so we are just waiting on the insurance to become officially active. I have found a PT here in Austin that treats patients with EDS, and once my insurance is good to go, I’ll be working to…

Unfortunately, I do not have access to a pool; I wish I did. I have looked into AIP. I’m going to check it out. I know several people w/EDS and mast cell problems who have benefited from that diet. I have resistance bands and I may get a couple pieces of Pilates equipment. Pilates has helped me in the past, and it is…

14 miles this summer. Just started training from my second half marathon, which happens in January. Hoping to run 2 halfs this year, and a full marathon next year.

Thanks, and congrats to you on being here too!

Keep going! Those 7 pounds may be hard to get, but it's so worth the work you put in to get them gone.

Thanks!

I use the SMART rule for motivation. Specific Measurable Attainable Relevant Time Bound. If you can set yourself small goals to reach, you'll be more motivation to achieve them. It could be going to the gym three days this week, or eating good for a week.. If you try to bite off more than you can chew, you're going to feel…

Thanks! Running has taught me so much about myself, and how far I can push myself.

The SeaWheeze was so much fun! The people, the spectators, everyone there made it so much fun to be a part of!

Thanks! I feel so much better!

Yes! I want to run a couple more half marathons first, but I eventually do want to run a marathon! The training, nutrition,etc...is different, but I want to take on the challenge.

Thanks so much for the recipe. Sounds like they're pretty easy to make as well.

Awesome! Thanks for the suggestions. That'd be something really easy to do.

I do. Thanks so much for the suggestions. The biggest hurdle has been finding different things that I can premake, and bring to work.

I always thought I would never be able to run because I had asthma as a kid. I struggled with it all through school, and as a result, was never very active throughout my teens and early 20s. Almost two years ago, I weighed between 250-270, and was at risk for many things. I started going to the gym, working out etc.. Long…
