Hi! I just started a low carb diet on Wednesday, August 2nd. I'm 5'4 and started at 154 lbs which is the most I've ever weighed in my life! :( Today, August 6, I weigh 151 so I'm losing on this diet already. I'd like to stay in this chat for support. My goal weight range is 129 lbs to 132 lbs.

Stop talking, and start moving.

I totally agree. Exercise isn't ALWAYS going to be fun.

I would suggest joining a recreational sports league in your town. I joined kickball a few months ago, and I bet that I burn about 250 calories in one game. Lots of running, and it's fun to be with your friends!! Although, I must admit, there is some beer involved (moderation) but I totally feel that I get a workout in!

I'm glad everyone has been so positive on here; thank you!

Keep up the good work! ....I definitely know what you mean; it is hard to see the big picture. Just take it one week at a time, and before you know it, you will be at your goal. MFP is really what kept my weight loss in check, coupled with exercise, of course.

I have lost weight by eating everything in moderation. While I eat mostly fruits, vegetables, lean meats, etc., I still eat pizza and drink alcohol at least once a week. To each their own!

He is obviously attracted to you otherwise I am sure he wouldn't have married you. In all honesty, I think you need to find your own self confidence rather than relying on your husband to make you feel beautiful :) I know, everyone likes to hear a compliment once in a while, but if he knows you are waiting or expecting a…

Some people lose weight faster than others & everyone is different.

Preach it!! Amen!! I have been wanting to say this for so long on these blogs!! I recently posted that I lost 23 lbs in about 2 and a half months. I'm 5'4 ....142 lbs starting weight to 119 currently. This is on a 1200 calorie diet sedentary and 1500 calories with exercise. Some people were congratulatory and some people…

It's hard at first, but I am motivated my results. Skipping the ranch that I ate with everything :( I kept losing and it motivated me to stay out of the fridge late at night. I also did not buy trigger foods like potato chips.

I will check into the Tdee thing. I've never heard of it before...

I used MFP. I put in my goals and it gave me 1200 calories a day without exercise, and adds in my exercise calories to be eaten back....I really used MFP as a guide and, yeah, it worked. I am going to add more calories later to maintain my weight when I get to 115.

@sheisadventure...that's awesome! Keep it up :).....@mlkmaid...Thank you. I understand where you're coming from. It does seem fast, but I completely revamped my diet and drink a lot less alcohol than I used to. Love my wine :)

I don't know how to post pictures on the blog, but my profile picture is me afterwards.

No offense, but if you really can't control yourself, then don't eat out. Only buy healthy groceries, and make meals for yourself at home. I know where you're coming from but you need to stop feeling sorry for yourself. To relate to you, I love potato chips...but I don't buy them, because I would eat the whole bag!!! Best…

You are right. I was down to 18% body fat at one point and I had the cottage cheese effect on my legs. It is very much genetic, unfortunately!!....Still don't feel comfortable in shorts, either.

Hi. I wish you good luck in your journey. If you don't have a lot of time to work out, focus more on your diet. Lean protein, fruits, veggies, nuts. Eat a smaller meal for dinner. Of course, you need to work out too, but focusing more on a healthy diet will be helpful!

Hi, I'm about 5'3.5. Starting weight March 25, 2013 was 142 and as of May 20, 2013 I weigh 119. That's 23 lbs in almost 2 months. I try to get at least an hour of strength training or cardio in 6 days a week and eat a healthy diet of lean meat, veggies, fruit, and nuts.

Hello. I lost about 17 lbs in a month. Sounds like a lot, but I am very disciplined. I eat lean protein (chicken, tuna, turkey breast, egg whites), a lot of fruit and vegetables (more vegetables than fruit). I eat healthy fats from almonds, avacado, fish oil, etc. For activity, I walk 1 hour per day. I do weight training 3…
