I'm new here and 53 years old. I lost about 29 lbs last year, but gained most of it back. I just restarted again about 3 weeks ago. I started out the first 1-2 weeks with the scale going down steadily then all the sudden it went back up 2 lbs and has been fluctuating up and down a pound or two at the same weight for about…

I am 53 years old but not exactly in menopause yet, but definitely anytime. I guess it's perimenopause. I lost about 29 lbs last year, but gained most of it back. I just restarted about 3 weeks ago. I started out with the scale going down steadily then all the sudden it went back up 2 lbs and has been fluctuating up and…

I'm 53 years old and from Southwest Virginia. I was trying to lose about 47 lbs and have lost 5 lbs so far since 6/29. I'm eating low calorie low carb, walking 4 days a week and toning 3 days a week. I have good days and some days are a real struggle like today.

Coconut & EVO Oils, Grass fed butter (I also use Kerrygold), Heavy cream, Cream Cheese, Bacon & Eggs, Avocados and Olives. Plus, high fat cuts of meat.

I am new to this too, but this is my experience so far. I am in my 2nd week and thankfully, I have been losing steadily. I have lost 8 lbs so far. I have my macros set to Fat 70% Protein 20% and Carbs 10%. I try to always keep my Net Carbs below 25 grams even though it's set to 10% because I do better the lower they are. I…

I'm 50 years old and 5'5" and started at 189 lbs. I'm currently at 172 lbs and want to get down to 145 lbs or less, so 27 lbs to go! I would love to be in the 130's again and if it happens, then wonderful, but I will be happy and satisfied with 140's. Although, once I'm down to 145 I may feel differently. lol Losing weight…

That's what happened once before. I was at a 10 lb weight loss for 3 weeks, then bam the next week I lost 3 lbs. Hopefully, that will happen again.

Thanks! Yes, a few inches and a few pounds is definitely progress. I'm just being impatient. I'm determined not to let that little negative voice win out this time. Plus, I'm not only doing this because I'd like to look better and feel better in clothes...sure that's true, but mostly, it's important for my health.

Thanks everyone. Nothing major, but I have lost an inch here and there. I work out faithfully 5 days a week 40 minutes - 60 minutes cardio. I've been working out 10 weeks now...this coming week will be week 11. I started strength training week 5. I strength train 4 days a week. So I am definitely getting more muscle…

I've been doing it about once to twice a week. I think I'd better keep it at that right now. I'm 50 years old and I am hitting between the target heart rate of 140-150, so that's about 85% I think. I know it sure feels like I'm going to drop and I can't breath. lol I do walk/run intervals on the tread mill and fast slow…

I'm on a very tight budget too, so clean eating is pretty tough, so I just do what I can. I'm like Christinamilian117's with my meals. I have a protein & vitamin drink for a meal or snack. And lunch I usually eat a Weight Watcher's Smart One's meal and some steamed veggies on the side or piece of fruit. Dinner is sometimes…

Not in general sweating, but I get the ammonia smell often too after a hard workout at the gym.

Married living in Virginia. I just turned 50 in April. I have 40 more lbs to lose originally it was 50, but I've already lost 10 lbs. I have a 5 day a week workout routine at Planet Fitness 5 days of Cardio and 4 days of strength training & abs. My goal is to get down to 140ish and to keep my blood pressure down and…

I forgot to say I see some difference.

I am "new again". Been about 2 years and I'm trying again. I'm 50 and need to lose 40 lbs and have found it extremely difficult since about age 44. Food is my biggest challenge because of finances. emotional eating. convenience, I don't like cooking and hubby makes it extra difficult. Although I am eating way more…

I'm sort of in the same boat. I know how you feel. I'm am struggling to stay positive and motivated right now. I've been working out at the gym 5 days a week for 7 weeks now and lost 10 lbs and just 1 inch to a 1/2 inch in all areas. I expected more. I started out with 5 days a week of about an hour of mixed cardio with…

Left MFP for several months and gained back what I had lost and more, so I'm starting all over. I just started eating healthier and exercising again about mid May, so far 10 lbs lost. I did really well in May and June. As for July, I've started off a little off track...doing well with my exercising, but am slipping in my…

I just turned 49 and I'm new to running and out of shape, although I have lost almost 20 lbs so far. ! I tried a running program with Fleet Feet Sports in 2012 but had to quit after getting an ankle stress fracture. Now, almost 2 years later I am trying to run again. This time on my own and in my own time at my own pace,…

I just turned 49! I tried a running program with Fleet Feet Sports in 2012 but had to quit after getting an ankle stress fracture. Now, almost 2 years later I am trying to run again. This time on my own and in my own time at my own pace, so hopefully, no injuries this time around.. I ran for 2 miles on the treadmill for up…

That's awesome! Way to go! I am on day 29 and lost 6 lbs and basically 1 inch everywhere. I'm still doing a little modifying with the side to side jumps and run lunge, but not as much, it's gets a little better each time. I'm not sure at this point when or if I will make it to phase 3-4 so after Power 90, I may do another…

That's awesome! I just started Power 90 recently. I'll be on day 4 today. I am 48 years old and have steadily gained weight since I turned 40, but 30 pounds of it, I gained over these past 4 1/2 years since I got married. I'm about 40-45 pounds overweight. I hope to lose weight and inches like you. So far, sadly, I've…

I have trouble with planks, then getting up into dogs pose & back down. And yeah, the runners pose too. I do what I can, but I'm not too good at it right now. I'm so sore today, and liable to be more sore tomorrow from today's sculpt. Wow! Day 81 is awesome! So if I may ask, have your results been good? I want to lose at…

Thanks! I ordered it day before yesterday, it said I should have it by next Tuesday. Doing it 6 days a week is going to be the big challenge for me. I deal with extreme fatigue, the docs think i could be Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, as I've tried everything and they've tested me for everything. So the 6 days is definitely…
-
Thanks! I think I'm going to go ahead and order the Power 90, since it has excellent reviews. I've also heard personal success stories and praise, so think it's worth giving a shot.
-
Thanks! After reading many opinions and reviews on both Slim in 6 and Power 90, it sounds like Power 90 will be best for me.
-
Hmmm the Slim in 6 sounds doable too and it's less expensive. Two payments of $19.95 as opposed to 3 payments for P90 Decisions, decisions. lol I don't mind jumping jacks and kinda like the idea of 90 days as opposed to just 6 weeks. I just hope I won't get too bored, but sounds like I could get bored with either one.
-
Thanks everyone! I'm thinking of doing the Power 90. The only exercise I get right now is walking 4-5 days a week, nothing to major. On top of those 4 days I also do one or two longer walks in addition. That's the extent of my exercise. I've read mostly great reviews and it sounds like something I can do. I don't care much…

I was the occasional walker last fall and joined a C25K Program called No Boundaries through Fleet Feet Sports (most of them have running and walking programs for 5ks 10ks and walking) They have beginner and intermediate, so I joined the beginner. You start running for 30 seconds then walk 2 minutes for 1 mile. I had to…

It's most definitely been harder for me. I could lose 10 pounds here and there in my 20's and 30's with no effort. Now, I am 48 and my fatigue level is extremely low. It's a daily struggle for me to just even function. Doctors have done so many blood test and thyroid, all came back fine. I also take a potent daily vitamin…

I tried a Couch to 5K last fall with a group, coaches and the whole works, but only made it 8 weeks before getting an ankle stress fracture. Up until then I was doing good with the exception of having some pain in my lower shins. If you are out of shape and haven't ran or walked regularly then the C25K is hard on your…
