Hello everyone! Thank you so much for this thread Barbie. I'm just starting back on myfitnesspal after being away for a few years. Unfortunately in those few years I've regained about 18 lbs so I'm looking to find support and make some new friends. I recently bought a rebounder and I'm having a lot of fun with that and…

I wouldn't restrict calories while pregnant just eat as healthfully as possible. There should be no reason to gain so much as 60 lbs in any pregnancy if you eat properly. You only need about 100 extra calories during the first trimester, 350 extra throughout the second trimester and approximately 450 extra during the…

This, so much! Why would you want to eat as little as possible? I want to eat as much as I can and still lose weight. If you start at the bottom, you have nowhere to go. Take care. :)

I started C25K in April and just completed in June then started 10k trainer. I know of the "jelly legs" of which you speak. I try to have some sort of carb before a run (even if it's just a banana) and some protein after a run to help replenish the energy I just burned off. Also, do you stretch afterwards? I find that…

Homemade burger made with lean ground beef, potato wedges tossed with EVOO, herbs & spices then baked in the oven and half an ear of corn on the cob. Yum, yum!

I don't do cheat days. I just eat anything I want in moderation and log everything.

I'm Canadian, born and bred and I never knew it as "Canadian bacon", it's peameal bacon and I've never been very fond of it. Too salty for my taste. It's definitely not ham, ham is dee-lish! Not sure what you Americans are calling Canadian bacon, but if you think it's ham, then maybe you really have no idea what it is?

Thanks! My endurance has greatly increased for sure, but I was just curious to see if I was on track. This was the first time since I began C25K that I actually recorded my distance. I guess I'm doing alright. :)

Yes and yes. I'm planning on taking my mom to Mandarin for her 86th birthday next month just because she loves it. I also plan on having a bit of this and that, but not eating until I'm stuffed. Key is to indulge without overdoing it. Balance and moderation.
Sorry, what is the TDEE method?
It stands for Total Daily Energy Expenditure. It factors in BMR and my daily activity so that I eat the same calories daily and don't have to worry about eating back exercise calories. Here's a link if you'd like to have look...…

I tend to look at weekly intake rather than just daily. As the previous poster said, some days you may eat a little less and others a little more but it usually tends to even out over the course of the week. ETA - I also don't eat back exercise calories. I use the TDEE method instead. I've found that it works better for me.

I've lost 28 lbs and it took just over 1 year. The first 14 took about 8 months then, once I switched to the TDEE method, I lost the other 14 in about 4 months. I think maybe I had such a hard time because of inaccurate estimates of calories burned through exercise and eating too many calories back. I've finally found my…
