As always though, BMI sucks for athletic people. Six pack on a good day, still 'overweight'.

Because I am a huge freakin geek, my immediate thoughts are that the statement of how much total weight would be removed or added to the world if everyone was the same BMI is wrong. The Conservation of Matter says otherwise. Matter can not be created nor destroyed, only change form. So, if everyone were the same BMI as me, it would not change the total weight of the world. It would only change the form in which matter existed within it.

Actually the statement is: total weight removed from the human population... and therefore correct.

Something about this seems off. OK, I'll buy that I'm slimmer than many woman my age in the chubby US (though not slimmer than 88% of them) but according to that chart I have a lower BMI than the average woman my age in Sudan.
