Aww thank you!

You're so pretty!

Normally I don't eat sugar unless it's in fruit and even then I'm careful. I have to tell you that there's a protein line called "six star" and their protein bars are better than candy bars. 20 grams protein and only 6 grams of sugar. If it's that TOM and I have a hard craving, I go for one of those. Totally guilt free. I…

Clarification, yes, you can probably still lose weight BUT it's not necessarily the healthiest way to go about it. Our bodies do need a balance of good carbs, fats and protein in order to be it's best at functioning. Not trying to be the sugar police haha but just really concerned about overall health  You can do…

THIS! Yes sugar should definitely be monitored (and limited!) There are more factors to be concerned about than simply calories. You can eat Twinkies up to your calorie goal and not go over and stay within your calorie limits but it's not in any way healthy. That's an extreme exaggeration but it's true. Refined and added…

[\quote]Your entire body--lean mass AND fat--uses energy (burn calories) all day every day to keep you alive. Muscle has the ability to use slightly more energy per pound than fat does, but honestly, it doesn't make a huge difference per day. "Burning fat" in the weight loss sense that you're using it occurs when your…

Found www.stronglifts.com 5x5 from a member's suggestion in another post and I LOVE it! There's a great app too.

But by gaining muscle won't that in turn burn fat, since muscle burns fat? I'm at my goal weight but I want a more athletic build... I eat 115g of protein a day (I'm 115 lbs) and began lifting 3x a week with one cardio day... I'm still slightly under or at my food goals a day.... I haven't gained weight but my goal is to…

The reason I'm beginning a weight lifting regimen is because muscle burns fat even when you're resting. The more muscle you build the more fat your body will burn. The more muscle you have, the more your metabolism works and the more you get to eat. win win win! If you want to build muscle, you're right, you can't undereat…

Whatever works with your schedule and energy levels.. if I workout in the morning I'm utterly exhausted the rest of the day. If I work out around lunchtime, I'm good. Plus it's not busy then! 4pm the gym is so busy it's hard for me to focus. I'm not a morning person though so that's probably why working out early is a…

I'd like to know what responses you get as well! I'm starting a lifting routine M/W/F not sure when I'll incorporate cardio...

Confident & free spirited :)

I have recently come to this conclusion as cardio got my weight down but it's not going to get me the results I want. I'm going to begin a lifting regimen and crank up my protein. I'm hoping to gain muscle and just get strong. Very intimidating for this 5'4" 115 pound gal but I can't let it intimidate me!
-
Absolutely! I see fit women with attributes I would like to have as well and am inspired to push myself. I see people struggling or just starting out and I commend them for being brave. The gym can be intimidating, for me personally, cardio is my comfort zone, lifting is intimidating for me. But I'm not going to let fear…

Forgot to add that protein builds muscle, muscle burns fat. To burn more fat, focus on building more muscle: more protein and more strength training.

For me, I'm focusing on eating a lot of protein (65+) a day and I don't bat an eyelash at the fats (which most are healthy) I watch my sugars and I don't eat sweets or white starches. Your body needs a balance of fats, carbs and protein to help weight loss. Fats keep you feeling full longer. From all I've read and my…

I agree with the girl who said that some people want to eat healthy and some people want to lose weight... I also agree with the people who can't moderate... I eat clean because it's worth it to me to pass up a little sugar or junk (which is aptly named by the way..) to get the results and health I want...
-
Totally normal. As hard as it is, try not to measure your results by the scale (I'm slowly learning this!) Measure by how your clothes fit and take measurements... the scale can fluctuate up to 5 pounds from day to day... water weight, bloating, time of the month, all kinds of things affect it. All that said, your losses…

To lose weight? Not necessarily. To lose weight AND be healthy? Yes. While there are people who eat crap all the time and manage to lose weight or not gain any at all... it doesn't make them healthy. Growing up I could eat whatever I wanted but I couldn't run/walk a mile without gasping for air. Was I thin? Sure. Was I…

Thanks!! :)

My first daughter was 3 weeks early (our first miracle baby - for many reasons!) and my second daughter who is 8 months old was born 6 weeks early - another miracle! I gained 75 lbs with my first and only 35 with my second... but with two it's been so much harder to eat right. Congrats on your twins!

Thanks so much!! My oldest is almost 4 years old :)

I'm back after a hiatus myself.... I would love to be your friend! We can help each other! I just posted "been MIA for over a year... had a baby" under the 'introduce yourself' forum. Good luck - you can't fail if you keep trying! <--- that's my motto this time!

Oh! Gotcha! I record it as circuit training b/c it's a lot of exercises back to back.:flowerforyou: And I have no clue how many calories it burns... each person is different. I would suggest a HRM to get an accurate reading - although I don't have one either. MFP just estimates it based on your weight/height/sex you input…

After a few months of work-out-hibernation :ohwell: I did TurboJam with Chalene Johnson. It kicked BOOTY for real and figuratively! I'm so proud of myself for getting back with my workouts. I had been doing Slim in 6 but plateaued and got bored. TurboJam is the JAM !!

As followers of Christ, we believe that anything sexual should be strictly between a husband and a wife. Viewing movies w/suggestive, sexual or unwholesome situations are not things we wish to see and can leave a lot of room for thinking about sexual things in ways God never intended (fantasizing about sex apart from the…

My husband and I both are absolutely 100% against it. While it can be completely platonic - usually it's not 100%. We are friends with other couples - but I am never alone w/ the other husband and my husband is never alone w/the other wife. All of our conversations are with each other present. There are also high walls we…

Carbs... white pasta, white flour, white sugar, pastries, doughnuts, rolls. Chocolate chip cookie dough. I'm hungry now :(
