Yes, indeed. Horses are my passion. More into thoroughbred racing (fan, not owner), but enjoy most anything to do with horses. Just retired last month and hoping to get to the barn more often.

It works for restaurants, too. If you have someone to split entrees with, it's great. Otherwise, get a take-home container and put half of everything on the plate in the container to take home. Then enjoy what's left on the plate. "Free" lunch next day.

Really like your quote about pain and suffering. A lot of a weight loss effort seems to be getting the mind around some truths and/or distracting oneself from cravings with activity. I like to play bridge or solitare online to get my mind on something other than food.

Half of a protein bar, like Pure Protein or Zone, and a glass of water helps me feel more satisfied. It's about 100 calorie snack.
