  • It depends on your phone if it will sync or not. My newer Galaxy syncs, my husbands' older My Touch does not. He can download the app, but not sync.
  • I am the fat girl at yoga, and take the class with my incredibly fit 71 year old mother!!! I enjoy being able to excercise with her (and my sister sometimes). The instructor is very good at telling us how to make accomodations...that helps. My mom goes 2x a week for over a year. She fell over the summer on a cement patio…
  • That's just creepy having someone watch you work out. There are tips that run through one of the gym tv's that says don't stare. I laugh each time I see it, but maybe the staring woman needs to read it.
  • As long as you track what you eat, I think you will find both ww and mfp successful. Differences are mfp is free, and instead of giving up a night to go to a meeting you can use that night to fit in another gym workout! That's the biggest difference I found. And the 24/7 support on here beats WW hands down.
  • If you are looking for easy, my husband's 3 favorites are: (both on low for 8 hours) BBQ Chicken--put in chicken thighs frozen or thawed (we usually only eat white meat, but the thighs stay juicier) and 1/2 jar of bbq sauce. It is delicious French Dip--bottom round roast, 2 onion packets, 2 cans reduced sodium beef broth.…
  • I excersise at the gym 4x a week. About an hour of cardio (worked up to 20 min. on elliptical, 20 on bike, 20 on treadmill) on Monday night because I weigh myself on Tuesdays :-). Wednesday I do 30 min. of cardio (elliptical or bike) then various strength machines. Friday I do Zumba at the gym for the hour. Saturday or…
  • I had that OMG moment 2 weeks ago. I was feeling really good about my workouts, so I was brave and decided to walk into Zumba class at the gym. I was doing really good, and surprisingly keeping up. I was so proud of myself, until I stopped watching the instructor and actually saw myself in the mirror...the many mirrors…
  • MFP put me at 1700 or so, I set it at 1500 and get at or close to it daily. I don't usually bother with figuring in excercise calories as of right now. I have been losing weekly, so I figure until that changes I am sticking to what works.
  • Sounds wonderful! Can't wait to try it
  • Fitting into a 'normal' size is one of the 'it's worth it' moments. Congrats!
  • Jessica, It seems like you have alot of things working against you but I do think you can do it. I too am new to this site, with over 150 lbs. to lose. Slow and steady wins the race, right? Some suggestions for you: --jumping rope is a great excercise, and your children will probably enjoy it. --any steps you can do, at…
  • Even though it was cold (39) we went to the park for a walk. Played tag there too.
  • I am wondering the same thing. MFP doesn't ask the mph you go on the elliptical, so it may be assuming a mph that you may or may not be doing.
  • Very inspiring, and great pictures.
  • Hi! I am Diane, a happily married mom to an energetic 4 year old. I am 39 and would like to be healthy at 40. My son does not have a weight issue yet, but his eating choices are horrible. To get him to eat a vegetable other than peas is torture! I would like to model healthy eating and living, and hope that he starts…
  • I just signed onto this site myself, and couldn't believe your post. I am in the same boat as you. Our family's are great, but we need to be around to see them grow up and be active enough to keep up with their energy (my son is 4--ALOT of energy!) I figured if I focused on 8-10 lbs. a month, it seems doable. Feel free to…
