Hello all! I am a sweet sassy mama of 3 great kids who has gotten tired of taking care of everyone but myself. It's time for a little "me" time to be put into my day and boy do I have a ways to go before I'm totally healthy, wealthy and wise lol. I would love to have friends to inspire me and I love to inspire others as well. Being in nursing I can't tell you how much of a hipocrit I feel trying to tell patients how to take care of themselves when inside I know that they can see that I am not taking care of me.....well no more! today is the first day of the rest of my blessed life so who's with me!?!

Welcome! I sent you a FR. I too am a mom of 3 and felt very similar to what you are feeling. I started MFP on 1/25/12 and have since lost over 80lbs, so it is definitely doable!! Just take it slow and keep on going...don't expect miracles to happen overnight because it will just frustrate you.0

Lots of company here, which is grea. I have lost...and regained..too many times. At this point, I'm headed toward real health problems if I don't lose it and keep it off. Need to take off 75 to 80 pounds total, but I'm segmenting my goal to lose 48 in 2013, so that I can feel successful. Not to mention that a 48-pound loss would mean huge things for my health, energy and well-being all by itself.
I'd be happy to be buddies, but I'm new here and no fantasticaloly talented at computer things. Can someone give me directions on friending within this world? Thanks.0 -

I'm sure you can do it! It sounds like it'll take some effort, but I'm sure that as a mom of 3, you're no stranger to hard work!
This is the start of my 2nd week on here, and think it's really going to help this time. I'm trying to lose weight I've gained since getting married 5 years ago, but am finding a lot of addition rather than subtraction if you know what I mean...
Anyway, you (or anyone else if they want!) can add me to friends. I think if we can believe in ourselves and have friends to believe in and have believe in us, we'll all be able to reach whatever goal we have.

Hi I am new to this website, OMG it is pretty awesome. I lost 138 lbs a few years ago and I have no dobut you will do great. Don't try to make all the changes at one time. I added new changes each month so I would not feel overwhelmed. For example I quit drinking Diet Coke one month, then I worked on drinking more water, watched calories and carbs at first then focused on more healthy food options compared to old ones, etc etc. I also waited a bit until I introduced exercise into my routine.....it just was too hard in the beginning Good luck to you. Sounds like you are on the right track. I want to lose 35# so I can feel better about myself, lower my blood pressure, and fit into those clothes hanging in my closet. And b a better role model for those who come to me as I am too in the nursing field and get requests weekly for weight loss planning,0

I just signed onto this site myself, and couldn't believe your post. I am in the same boat as you. Our family's are great, but we need to be around to see them grow up and be active enough to keep up with their energy (my son is 4--ALOT of energy!) I figured if I focused on 8-10 lbs. a month, it seems doable. Feel free to add me as a friend, and if I figure it out I will add you too.0
