  • Hi, former vegan here. I even tried keto and I kind of fell into this Mediterranean way of eating because it just seems natural to me. My favorite foods...fresh fruits & veggies, whole grain breads, pasta and of course olive oil , are all in this way of eating. I seem to absolutely love every recipe I try and surprisingly…
  • I absolutely love avocado toast with tomatoes 😊👍
  • It's getting cold here, so I have been roasting a lot of different veggies. I put them all in different containers in the fridge and cook some beans and some rice and sometimes some pasta. When I get hungry I just throw whatever sounds good into a bowl and heat it. I usually end up adding some salsa and some nutritious…
  • Great ideas! I am so glad that I saw this. Now I just need to find the groups!!! Awesome ideas here. Thanks for sharing
  • I do like their meat, but I have a small local market that will sell me meat by the case sometimes. Ribeye steaks work out to $4.49 a pound that way. Just ask, that's how I started getting the deal on cases.
  • Dan, I had a carnivore day last week.. I was eating taco meat that I had cooked the night before, but I was so hungry I ate it cold out of the container. I will need to find the Jimmy Dean Crumbles. Yum Karyn
  • Thank you, Dan. It is in fact a 71 SS, its one of the few they did with a 350 / 350. I would have liked the bigger engine, but the 350 has had some nice work done to it and they are sure easy to work on. The price was right. It was a piece of junk when I bought it and hubby actually wanted to rid of it. It had high back…
  • Late checking in, sorry. I am doing well on planning my meals and keeping them simple. I have been successful on drinking more water. I am walking every day. Some days more than others depending on how my back feels, but I am moving every day. I am down 4.3 pounds this week and 2.5 inches. That was a nice surprise. I am…
  • Down 4.3 pounds and 2.5 inches this week. Very happy especially considering I am still on some meds from my spinal surgery and my exercise is only walking right now. Thank you Dan! The recipe works! It took my body a bit to adjust to it, but I wonder if that's the meds and the inflammation. I am going to do it again this…
  • Thank you!!! You are such an inspiration and a nice guy, too. I am sticking with this and I will succeed. I will have to exercise 2 days a week for my pt, but they are going to be gentle to start with, so I guess I won't be deviating too much. I am expecting great things at my next check in!
  • I did ok, no weight loss, but, I am on meds from my surgery and still have a lot of inflammation, so I am thinking maybe that's it? I did fine with the fasting. I actually broke the fast later than I intended on Friday, as I had my post op appt in Phoenix and its 100 miles away and I had to get on the road. lol.... My…
  • I made it! I am in. my exercise might not be as strenuous as most of you, but I have my spinal surgery post op on Friday and I will find out what I am allowed to do for exercise. I hope that is ok. I am very excited to do this. Thank you!
  • I love batch cooking. I made several of the crustless quiche recipes to gave pre-portioned meals after my surgery. I still have a buncg in the feeezer as it turned out I dont like them very much lol. I will be cooking batches of meats I think. I cooked 4 lbs if ground beef with taco type seasonings today. Its all portioned…
  • I am late! Sorry. I usually eat very basic and I want to continue with that. I enjoy planning my meals ahead and cooking and packaging them when I can. I would really like to be more consistent about it. My scale is hidden and I would like to weigh once a month. I am trying to walk every day and adding a little bit more…
  • I am so very sorry for the loss of your Grannie. You and your family are in my prayers. As for the 10,000 steps, you are right, life gets in the way sometimes. Hugs to you
  • That's a great idea. I also agree, cold brew coffee is so good.. Especially for iced coffee.
  • Had a very hard day today as far as pain, but I managed 1859 steps. . Not as good as I had hoped for, but I am realizing that I am not as super human as I would like to think I am and when I over do it, I am not healing faster, I am slowing myself down. I will try to behave.
  • Thank you thank you thank you!! Omg I was in tears at the beauty of the Beluga Whales. I can't thank you enough for sharing your journey with us. Xoxo
  • My appetite has been strange since my surgery, but I am getting my macros pretty close to where I want them. I am hoping to become a bit more adventuresome in my food choices again this coming week.
  • I also say I cut out sugar and grains etc that turn to glucose in my body. I tell them I was pre-diabetic and wanted to try eating different before I had to take meds. I was vegetarian up until I started keto, so the 1st thing they all say is "Oh! You were low on protein and needed more protein, didn't you?!".....uh, no, I…
  • I walked 2, 369 steps today. More than I am supposed to, but it just kind of happened. I will do a little less tomorrow and then try for more on Monday.
  • Good morning sunshine girlfriends! I had my spinal surgery on Tuesday the 11th and I am doing well. I miss you all and I will try to get in here more often, but please know that even if I am not here on the forum, I am thinking of you all and making sure you are all in my prayers. Love you dear friends. xoxoxox, karyn
  • I walked 922 steps yesterday . That was 8 days post spinal surgery. No where near the 10,000 steps that we are supposed to get every day, but I am thrilled. I will get to the 10,000 steps!!
  • I sometimes do only one meal in a day, but I don't plan it that way. If I am not hungry, I will forget to eat, usually because I had a very filling BPC.
  • @SkinnyKerinny, thank you! I. Did make some hard boiled eggs and tomorrow I will pre slice some celery sticks and some cucumbers. I think I am ok then, oh, I might make some chicken salad.. I did discover that although we have lived here for 10 years, hubby has no clue where anything is kept. I am going to have to leave a…
  • I have never cheated on keto. I consider it my WOL, not a weight loss diet. I can't cheat on my life.
  • More casseroles in the oven to freeze in individual portions for meals after my surgery. I also froze several meals of fresh green beans and the cream cheese stuffed chicken breasts wrapped in bacon. . 2 pounds of bacon cooked and in the fridge. I will be lucky if there's 1 pound left by Tuesday lol. I will make some cold…
  • Walking the dachshund every day and wandering around the house. Surgery Tuesday morning and then the real work will begin.
