I'm no expert , but here are my 2 cents from my own experience when I was in my early twenties: Although excessive exercising is obviously counterproductive , SOME exercise ( whatever kind) can actually be good. You start to see fitness benefits and you start to see that if you don't fuel your body you don't perform as…

Wonder if you guys can help ?I'm small ( c. 46kg), and not that young ( 41) so decided to build some muscle strength doing lifting. Issue is I went to a PT and effectively she said to do deadlifts / squats at 3x10 reps. I was under impression fewer reps and heavier weights was the way forward -- however given I am only…

I, too , missed this excellent read pre-Christmas. I'm relatively new here , and probably fall into your categorisation of "small female" albeit my body fat isn't quite as low as I would like it to be. I know I am only repeating what basically everyone else has said , but many many thanks to all three of you for such an…

You don't say how tall you are in your profile ( and so its tough to judge how much excess weight there really is at 115 ) ... but although I have never had that amount to lose , even allowing for a young metabolism it sounds like ambitious targets to me -- ie losing ~ 1/3 of your bodyweight in less than a year? My only…

Am I allowed to agree with both the OP and the majority ( just ) on here that think its made no difference? I don't especially "need" to lose weight ( nor have i ever been overweight as the medical profession defines it) , but for sure it felt like in my 20s i could "watch" what i ate for a week , and spring back into…

Obesity index 17 / lower than 98% in the UK / lower than 88% in the world. If everyone in the world had the same BMI as you, it would remove 76,952,481 tonnes fromthe total weight of the world's population Most like someone in Ethiopia. Just shows me how limited bmi is as a measure of individuals rather than population…

I'm 5'4 ... and very much so on me -- 10lbs is a dress size up. 2-3 lbs i can't see , 5 lbs is visible in my face in photos for sure -- no more cheekbones!

looking at your breakfast , i think is more like 350 than 200 cals unless you are using some reduced calorie version of the ingredients i don't know about-- having said that your overall intake even with that seems fine --maybe make sure you are measuring everything rather than guessing cals ( unless you already do)

I don't know how cool you need to be exactly but couldn't you do some very low intensity cardio ( ie walking basically ) -- won't do anything for your fitness at v low intensity but might burn some cals anyway .... or do some strength training ( again need to pace that -- gets my heart rate up in no time)
