  • I also add a salad. I find them to be pretty filling though. Too me they just feel like a quick meal for when I have to eat alone.
  • Celery had 5 calories a stalk and unless you plan on chewing the stalk for a few hours you are not going to burn any calories by eating it. However it will make you feel fuller quicker which will cause you to ingest fewer calories. Also, celery is pretty high in sodium so those with high blood pressure should eat it in…
  • My cals are 1330 a day. Hence the reason I workout 6 days a week and try to maximize my calorie burn. Haaaa!
  • It's like 2 maybe 3 big eating days at the most. Just because you bake holiday treats doesn't mean that you have to eat them all! a couple of big meals even with a few holiday splurges does not mean that you have to gain weight. In fact I fail to see how eating sensibly and working out as usual would result in extra weight…
  • I have the same thing. It's actually the Achilles tearing slightly. Usually caused by a super tough workout. Ice helps a lot, messaging the area is also recommended. If it's very very tight stop working out for a couple of days. Other than that I find that yoga stretches that area nicely kick boxing also seems to help as…
  • I love it. I do it the series every couple of months. I swear that it makes my endurance better. Make sure that you use a heavy enough weight so that you struggle at the end of each strength circuit.
  • Kickboxing burns a lot as does circuit training. if you want to burn that many calories that quickly you're probably going to have to take up sprinting.
  • It drives me crazy that doctor's will choose to push medications without addressing the root of the cause of these diseases. Most of your recent health issues can absolutely be controlled, if not obliterated, by a healthy diet and excessive exercise. Welcome back and i wish you much success!
  • Hummus! It's the best veggie dip ever!
  • The first mile is the hardest so I have no doubt that you can make it! Do intervals and make sure you run hills, both will strengthen your heart and legs and with the hills running a flatter distance will feel like the easiest thing ever. Have a great race!!!
  • Jillian's 6 week six pack will help. I have the same issue after having a very large daughter myself. I may not get a six pack but I can feel them tightening while doing the work out. I also found that doing crunches on a stability ball works the core a lot more as well.
  • Like you I just don't keep it in the house. If we want a sweet treat we make it. When my daughter was a toddler I would make her turkey dogs, but I also foisted fruits and veggies at her constantly. She pretty much knows that a treat is just that, a treat. If she wants a snack now she'll dig a yogurt, apple, or string…
  • I don't discriminate when it comes to fruit. I love them all and would never give them up!

  • Strong Body, ageless body by Erin O'Brian. It's crazy and it hurts when you first start but it works.
  • I have that happen to! Some days I'm like "I look gooood" other days it's "why the heck is this jiggling like that?"
  • Slow down, but keep moving and try to stretch. Also are you making sure that you are hydrated before you being your cardio? I can always tell when I haven't been drinking enough as my calves will cramp like crazy.
  • If you can see your body shrinking than don't worry about the scale. I'm convinced scales are evil machines that know on some level how to ruin your day.
  • Before I joined I did a lot of running, push-up, sit ups, and weight training in my arms. I was trained by the recruiters at my recruiting station to maximize my initial PT test. I recommend that he does the same as I know that the PT test has radically changed since I was in the Army. Thank you to you and your husband for…
  • If you are not collecting a pay check you can continue to file and collect unemployment benefits. Glad to hear that you can get a free apartment and utilities!
  • Everyone is different. My weight takes forever to go down but I'll lose inches and dress sizes easily. As long as you are feeling better and the scale is moving you're doing fine. A side effect of a food intolerance is bloating of the stomach, so if you notice that your clothes fit tighter after eating the common hard to…
  • You probably need to increase or change the workout that you are doing. Once your body has figured out what you're up to it figures out how to stop burning as many calories. Crafty little bugger. Try doing some intervals of jogging and walking, I pretty much guarantee you'll start seeing results again.
  • Wacol underwire sports bra. No uniboob and nothing moves. No Matter what I do. I'm a 34DD for reference. Athleta has a huge selection of sports bras for us bigger chested girls.
  • There is an intro. I own the dvd, probably because I hate myself, and she does talk at length before the first workout. Honestly I sort of tune it out. If you want to see the intro speech you can go on exercise tv's website and see the first workout in it's entirety. There is also a formal workout plan for her dvd on there.
  • If you want a more "road experience" on the treadmill put it at a 1 percent incline. Running hills really increases your endurance. I did the same program 2 years ago to get back into running and I enjoyed it. Make sure that you love your shoes!
  • I go through phases like that. I'm in one right now where I just don't seem to get hungry. I just make sure that I eat well, making everything I do eat balanced. I know I'll go through a hungry phase again where I'll want to eat everything that can't get away from me. If you are looking to significantly increase your cal.…
  • Pilates is great for strengthening your core and lower back, which will help ease the pain and prevent another injury in the future. Yoga is also great for realigning things that might be out of place. I have chronic back probs myself so I can vouch that this actually works. You can use what I call the arm bicycle at the…
  • Depends what yoga you did. When I do Jillian's yoga I am super sore. When I do a fusion yoga sometimes I feel a little sore sometimes not. Gentle yoga should not make you feel sore, just stretched. Make sure you are not going beyond a position than your body can allow. If you have trouble taking a deep breath it usually…
  • I've done it and I keep going back to it. The first level is pretty terrible, but I am firmly anti-jumping jacks and lunges. The second two levels are more intense but less annoying to me. I sweat like a pig and gasp like a fish out of water for the first few times, which I take to mean it really works. So I guess I more…
  • I started with Bio Oil and it really took the redness away quickly, then I moved to Mustela and that helped make my skin more even and less bumpy. I had super bad stretch marks though and I am now comfortable wearing form fitting shirts without worrying about anything unwanted making an appearance. Cocoa butter is a lie…
