It is a habit. You can either save calories in anticipation, or you can work on changing the habit. If watching grown television is your trigger, do your nails or something with your hands. My husband and I began doing yoga most nights instead of sitting on the couch. Whatever works for you.

The Nike+ site has many programs based on your goals. Speed, distance, etc.

Blog it, then read it every time you feel like eating everything in sight. It will remind you of how you felt when you ate too much unplanned food. Then make a blog post when you were able to resist the urge to splurge. Remind yourself how great that felt. Unplanned eating happens. What you do next determines your outcome.…

Check out "rock my run" where a lot of DJs make mixes just for running. My favorite is DJ Little Fever's "Crush it"

^This. It is just me, the music, my dog and thinking about my form. No room for anything else.

Runners trots are very common. Some people do have GI issues after runs because of what the poster said above. Look at what you are eating before runs. Are you doing GU and Gatorade while you race/run? Though some can handle it, a lot of people have problems with that combo.

Agree to all above. Get fitted at a running store. Run up and down the sidewalk and just get a feel for the shoes. I'm in Brooks Ghost right now, I want to try Nike FreeRuns but I have never had any luck with finding a pair of Nikes that feel good.
