I like turtle cheesecake. You know, the kind with the chocolate cookie crust. Yum....

I picked up a copy of Jeff Galloway's "Marathon" book, but I've only read the first two chapters. I will definitely check out the 1-minute concept. This week has been going better. I ran 5 miles on Saturday and 5 miles this morning.... so I'm starting to log in some distances. 5 down, 21.2 to go!

Friends are fun, especially when they they are supportive. Yay! I'll add you and everybody else. If anybody else wants to add me, have at it! :) Yay for us!!

For the cupboard/drawer: Canned tuna, canned chicken (if you like it... I personally don't care for it, but it's up to you), unsalted raw nuts/seeds, dried fruit (careful with amounts, though), whole grain bread, protein bars (watch sugar count), apples For the fridge: Greek yogurt, string cheese, spring mix lettuce, a…

How do you know they are texting and not just changing their Pandora station, or selecting other music, or even logging their sets?

I never checked before MFP, but I'd say a good guess would be around the 5k mark. I ate A LOT of processed food, canned goods, etc. I never realized how much of a sodium difference there was until I started tracking what I ate. Now, I'm almost always under the 2500 mark. Usually around 1500 or so, if I had to guess. The…

I have read a couple of articles in health magazines that say breaking up exercise is totally fine. As somebody else said, calories burned is calories burned. Keep doing what you're doing. Stop when your feet are sore, start again when they feel better. It WILL get better. Seriously. Also, as somebody else mentioned,…

Me too! I'll friend you. :)

I'm doing the one in Spokane, Washington in June. Woot, woot! To somebody who said the rates are too much, I'm running it for free because I will be volunteering for 4-5 hours handing out packets two days before race day. Check out Color Me Rad's website for information and to sign up.

I understand about it being tough to eat healthy when money is tight and time is limited. McDonald's is fast, cheap, and completely terrible. Cheap suggestions: Frozen fruit and veggies, especially when they're on sale. Canned tuna Whole grain Triscuit crackers (I know they're processed, but whatever). Sometimes go on sale…

I recant my previous statement, because you clearly need to see a therapist. Stat. Certainly, there is such a thing as being addicted to food. If that's you, then you need to see a therapist. Stat. However, if you are not addicted to food, then you cannot have a hateful relationship with it. How can you hate something that…

Dude, for real. You have got to change the way you look at things. You cannot hate food. There's absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying a good meal, a glass of wine, and a pleasant conversation. The key is moderation, slowing down, and enjoying what's in front of you. Don't just feed yourself to get by; get creative, eat…

First, the Biggest Loser also has on-staff personal trainers, nutritionists, doctors, counselors, and so forth. Second, I hardly think they only eat 1500 calories per day, especially in the beginning when they're super overweight. With the amount of calories it takes just to move their 400-pound selves around, plus cardio…

My exact words--when I saw your after picture--were "Holy crap!" You look amazing and so much younger. Have a very happy and blessed birthday. You've earned it!
-
Nice work, guy!
-
Happy birthday! I love your headline and I think you look amazing. I bet you feel amazing, too! Many congratulations!

Water weight. If you're tracking your food and liquids honestly, then it shouldn't be a problem.

I've been out of Minnesota since 2005 (I visit a couple of times a year), and all I can say is: I have NO IDEA how I survived the humidity when I was there! Holy crap, every time I go back in July or August it just kicks my butt. Ugh!! And I think people must stay used to it, because nobody else around me complains about…

And OP, you do not have to justify to ANYBODY why you are eating pineapple, or what will be done with the leftovers, or whatever. It's your life, your business, and people need to BUTT OUT.
-
Exactly. OP- The person making the remarks isn't trying to be a good friend; she is mad that you are making positive efforts and you are doing it better than she is. She's jealous and is angry at herself for eating cake instead of fresh fruit.

"Eye openers" indeed. I've never logged calories before signing up for MFP and, holy cow (literally), this is a huge shock.

Yes, I think it's entirely possible. Friday night, I had a "splurge." I even kept it within reason (I ate wayyyyy less than what I did prior to losing weight), but I figured it was at least a 2000 calorie evening. 720 calories of that was wine alone (which is fricken' scary as hell). I agree with the posters who are saying…

I like songs that make me happy! Some are kind of dorky, but I love... Party in the USA (Miley Cyrus) It's My Life (Bon Jovi) Shout! (Isley Brothers) I Will Buy You a New Life (Everclear) Calfornia Girls (Katy Perry) Hey Girl (O.A.R.) Hey Ya (Outkast)

I agree 100%. Are you tracking what you are eating? If so, that should help you tweak where you're wasting calories and where you should improve. For example, I never realized that bananas were so high in calories (MFP says 100/each) and sugar. I figured a fruit is a fruit, but that is so not true. I've cut bananas and…

This is really awesome. Thanks for composing all the answers.

You look great. Congratulations!

You look amazing! Nice work.

Wow, what an amazing transformation. You look beautiful.
